Urgent Prayer Need

Many of you who have been to Rome City between 2001 and 2004 may recall Father Robert Hoevel (Retired 93 years old) who came to live at Sylvan Springs after major heart surgery in 2001. Many people who met him there thought he would never leave the beautiful grounds. They assumed he would pass away there...and soon.

Well, as you might expect, Our Lady of America had other plans and Fr. Hoevel made a very strong comeback while living here and saying Mass every day. He was instrumental in starting the Friday Night Rosary group and he took care of the pastoral needs of anyone who happened to stop by unannounced. He has been a major influence on all of us who know and love him.

On Tuesday of this week, Father Hoevel fell and broke his hip at Saint Anne's Home. Fortunately, he had medical care immediately available. After the surgery to repair his hip he began to have breathing difficulty and so doctors have now put him on a ventilator. Anyone who knows Father Bob knows this is a very difficult thing for him. He needs our prayers at this time.

Please include Father Robert Hoevel in your prayer intentions.
Better yet, if you can take a moment to send him a card or quick note, it would really make his day to know Our Lady of America's children are thinking of him.

Father Hoevel came to know about Our Lady of America in rather dramatic fashion back in 2001. He has been praying for all of Her children to accept the call to purity ever since.

Please send your cards to:

I will be praying for this good priest. Wouldn't it be neat if he received bags of letters? What a testament that would be.

May the Blessed Mother and Her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ wrap Father in the Mantle of their protection and love. Praying for a quick recovery for him as this must be very difficult to bear.

Eventhough I do not know Father, he sounds like an awesome Priest! My card will be in the mail to him in the morning.

I will pray, through the intercession of Our Lady of America, that Father Hoevel will continue to improve...I feel as though he watches over the springs and he will be a true impetus to the enthronement of Our Lady in Washington D.C. Father, I have not had the true pleasure of meeting you! Though I didn't know you in person I have heard many stories attesting to your Faith, Your Devotion to Jesus and by your spritual wisdom. Because of your hard work there and mental participation in the sacraments and rosary, when you
were allowed to do so, you have inspired and touched many lives...including my huband's and mine.
May God Bless Us and Mary Keep US
