Are these ominous warnings just more of the same "sabre rattling" we have been ignoring for so many years? Or are they something we should be paying greater attention to these days?
Jesus said: “My people, many times I have told you that the only sign, that I will give, is the sign of Jonah. Jonah was reluctant to tell the people of Nineveh about its coming destruction because he was fearful that they would kill the prophet of doom. After his experience in the sea, he finally carried out My call.
Jonah said: (Jonah 3:4) “Forty days more and Nineveh shall be destroyed.” At this the people were shaken and they repented, and put on sackcloth and ashes, and I relented from destroying that city.
Now, America, I proclaim to you the same warning. If you do not repent and change your lifestyles of sin, you also will meet with destruction from natural disasters, terrorism, and riots in chaos. Nineveh repented and was spared, and if America repents, I will spare you from this destruction as well.
You saw the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the destruction of Jerusalem. So you know that I will carry this out if you do not repent. I told you that this will be like a year as no other, so it is up to your people to heed My warnings, or you will be facing worse destruction than you have ever seen before. I did not give a long time to change, and you have been warned to wake up for many years. Now My justice must fall on your country, America, for you have not answered My plea in the right way in your actions.
Prepare for your destruction and prepare your souls with repentance in Confession. I will provide protection for My faithful at My refuges, but the rest will suffer much at the hands of the evil ones.”

I certainly don't think these things are just "sabre rattling". These are warnings and we must be aware of the signs around us. It appears the birds of the air and the creatures of the forest have a better understanding than we foolish humans do.
We need to get our collective poop in a group people!
The world certainly is in a state of change. I believe the world will not end but it is definitely changing.
A lot of people say John Leary is off base but I think he is right on. Didn't they reject St. Faustina when she proposed Divine Mercy? Just goes to show you that we just don't know all there is to know. We do need to be prepared. Jesus told us so. I trust HIM.
Whatever the Church has to say about John Leary's statements re: whether they are from his own mind or are thoughts given to him by Jesus directly doesn't really matter to me. I take it for what it is. He uses a spiritual director to review all of his messages before he publishes. I have not found anything to be of great concern.
It is all valuable info that I think helps, in union with other sources of info, in directing my thoughts and actions on a daily basis. It is all about giving back to God and following the example of Jesus each and every day.
God has a plan and we are, as a combined society of believers and non-believers, messing it all up. If you do not see the problems mentioned in these messages, you need to step back and re-evaluate.
I remeber an old cartoon strip, POGO, and one of the characters turned to other and said "We have met the enemy...and they is us!"
it is time for everyone to wake up and listen to the messages of Jesus and Mary through John Leary before it is to late!

People need to wake up. Yes it better to believe than not to believe...
I have read many messages from people from all over the world and the messages are basically the same. Repent,pray, prepare.
Mary has been at Medjugorje for 25 years trying to get us to do just that and She complains that people are still not listeing!
Read the messages of True Life in God, Vassula Ryden. In some ways they are similar to what is being said by John Leary; If you want to receive the desire to convert, read those messages for they are full of the Lord's loving call.
