The Brick House Masses

The old brick house served as the living quarters of the resident physician of Kneipp Springs and his family. When Dr. GT Willke was here, this house probably saw as much activity as any place on the entire property...and we're not just referring to excited children running in and out of the house.

There used to be a larger porch on this house and it was used quite frequently for outdoor Mass and Benediction as part of celebratory processions to the Grotto area at the base of what we now call Holy Family Hill. A beautiful altar area was set up on this porch and it is in this exact location where an old concrete statue of The Sacred Heart of Jesus began exhibiting a strange coloration around the heart and down the front of Christ's tunic. This happened on January 7, 2008 (Feast of Mother of Mercy). This is the same name on the cornerstone of the main chapel dated 1916 The Our Lady Mother of Mercy Chapel.

We would like to thank Dr. John Willke and his wife Barbara for sharing photos from their private archives.

More to come...

Oh my, how PROVIDENTIAL it all is!
Truly a work of the Lord and His Blessed Mother. How can anyone doubt this Sacred Holy Ground..the signs are all around us!

For those with "eyes to see" and "ears to hear" the messages are being given to each of us to do the work that is being requested by Our Lady.

The pictures Dr. Willke shared are sensational. I love the story of the porch and the Outdoor Masses being said. I wondered about the 'grotto' at the foot of the hill, and thought it would be nice to see it restored in the future to it's original grace and beauty. Any volunteers out there?

I agree with j stolle.

I have been showing others in my prayer group the statue that took on those incredible markings earlier this month. Our opinion is that it looks like a Bishop's staff. Could this possibly mean Our Lord is trying to call the Bishops to His Sacred heart?

My aunt and uncle were regulars at these outdoor Masses and processions. They lived on the lake and went to daily Mass at the "springs".

They are both in their 90's so I can't wait to tell them that their altar boy may have grown up to be the father of the right to life movement. They are already familiar with Our Lady of America so this is just icing on their memory cake.

What an amazing account! I showed the picture of the Sacred Heart statue to a friend on Monday, and she asked what the shape of the coloration was-we both agree that it DOES look like a Bishops' staff!

Thank God for this Holy ground! May the devotion of Our Lady of America flourish!
