From The Letter File

We get many letters and phone calls from various visitors to Sylvan Springs. Many times, they seem to be frustrated because they cannot find the "right" words to describe their feelings nor can they adequately describe what they may have witnessed while touring the grounds or reflecting in prayer in one of the chapels.

This letter comes to us from a well-grounded young man who decided to surprise his fiancee with a day at Sylvan Springs on November 10. Rome City has become a place of great inspiration for this young couple as they attempt to lay the spiritual foundation of their future lives together. There is no doubt that Our Lady is reaching out to them, as She is to ALL of Her children. The only difference is that this couple openly recognizes this fact and wants to do all they can to help. They are obviously without the financial resources to help secure these grounds, but they have something money cannot provide. They have the KNOWLEDGE that was born out of a willingness to BELIEVE. They have faithfully answered Our Lady's call and they have both received what it was She wanted to give them.

Our Lady wants us all to have this knowledge so that they may fully live in Her Son's lifegiving LIGHT. One of the greatest gifts you could ever ask for is waiting for you in Rome City. Come, take what you are given, and help to spread the message of OLA this Christmas Season.

Awesome letter, may Our Lord and His Blessed Mother guide these two young individuals in their quest to preserve this Holy Ground for the public faithful for generations to come.

It is so refreshing to see the "children" coming forth and being so inspired. Wish you could see me now, I am jumping up and down with joy in my heart.

My prayers will continue for all of you, especially Larry and his family for all their efforts they have expended at the Springs.

God Bless,

There's nothing else to say. This letter is AWESOME!

I believe this is exactly what the true focus of Our Lady of America is about. It isn't necessarily some statue that is the focus. It is taking Her messages to HEART and making it part of your foundation as you strive to live your life in the light that is Jesus' love and mercy.

This couple will do great things in their union with Mary as their framing architect.

In response to the posted letter:

Who knows at this time if this is the answer we have all been praying for. But as I have always said, trust Her, Our Blessed Mother knows what She is doing. We cannot question or lose our faith.

No matter what is prepared in the future for this Holy Ground, Our Lady is in charge of it--always has been and always will be.

In God's time we shall see how this will work itself out.

Let us keep our faith and keep praying with the belief that Our Lady is, along with her Son, on top of all of this, for She is!

God bless you Larry and Lyn as the struggle continues to move forward, perhaps, to a new dimension. You have kept it safe and done Our Lady's work. They will someday call you Blessed!

In response to Anonymous-

I think we are all on the same page here, but:

MAYBE this is how Our Lady is trying to do whatever it is She is wanting to do here. MAYBE She is using young people in just this way. The young seem more willing to change as requested. The older people are, too often, tied to their old ways (and their money).

I'm not doubting that Our Lady is in control, but I am reminded of something I heard Larry say several years ago when I started visiting Sylvan Springs. He said that we must all be willing to humble ourselves enough to acknowledge that, even though WE, ourselves, may not be getting called to action, the Holy Spirit may be working through the person standing right next to us. I think this is a great perspective and I have never forgotten it.

MAYBE this young couple ARE being called. Shouldn't we be willing to acknowledge their beliefs and support them as long as they are willing to serve Our Lady's needs so ardently?

From Anonymous to G.M. and everyone,

I am not discounting that wonderful letter at all. This may very well be the answer we have been praying for, and hopefully there will be support from all of us if these wonderful people are chosen by Our Lady.

I say "Amen" to what you have said and pray to Our Lady for Her wishes to be met in whichever way She chooses.
