In other news, those who came to the Friday Night Rosary on July 27 will remember a young mother who brought her baby in search of Our Lord's healing. Before the mass and rosary, the community gathered around and everyone prayed along with Irv for Our Lady of America's intercession on behalf of this very fragile child. Almost 200 people were gathered around this little baby and his family.
Well, we received a report just last week that this same little baby who was brought to Sylvan Springs for a healing back on July 27 due to a hole in his 8 week old heart is now doing fine. The doctors determined the hole was no longer there (through no efforts on their part). Although they had no real answer as to how this could happen, they determined that the little boy should go home with his young mother and grow up to rides bikes and do all the stuff boys do.
I guess the news isn't all bad!
Pray for peace.

I was at this particular Friday Night Rosary and I remember walking in before Mass and a group was gathered around this family while Irv led the prayers for this tiny little baby. My wife and I instictively joined the group in prayer. We had no idea what the circumstance was, but we knew it was of the Holy Spirit. The feeling in the room was thick with love.
Afterward, we stood in line to be prayed over and my wife was immediately "slain" in the spirit. She has been prayed over countless times, even by Fr. Jozo in Medugorje, but she has never actually rested in the spirit like she did that day in Rome City. She talks about it to all of her friends. It was something beautiful and memorable.
I have no doubt in my mind that the Holy Spirit healed that small baby and maybe numerous others that night. I believe in the power and magnificence of Our Lord Jesus and the intercession of His Mother Mary.
I encourage all to make a pilgrimage to Rome City if and when you can.
Thanks be to God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for the miraculous healing of this precious little boy! What a great testament of Our Lady's promises to Sr. Mildred that there would be more miracles than at Lourdes! This little boy was not only the recipient of graces, but I am confident that he and his family have been and continue to be the source of grace for others around them. Sister Mildred was said to be happy and joyful, for even though she received messages of punishment for America, (if there was not a return to peace and purity), she was also full of faith, hope and trust because Our Blessed Mother promised, "In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph."
"By thy Holy and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, deliver us from evil." Bring one and all to Her Holy Ground in Rome City!

With the recent appointing of Cardinal-designate Daniel N. DiNardo, current Archbishop of Houston, does this mean we will have another red hat to support OLA? I mention this because I assume he was the one who invited the OLA statue to his particular Archdiocese to be exhibited this weekend and I was told the statue would NOT go anywhere unless invited by the local Bishop.
Any comments?
Is there any tally sheet put together of Bishops who have publicly come out with staements/for or against the approval of OLA? I would presume we could put all of the areas where the statue has been exhibited as pro-OLA.
I like to concentrate my prayers and petitions on those candidates who still need to be convinced which side of the fence is the best to be on...the PRO-OLA side.
To Martin-Phil:
Holy Rosary, Annunciation and St. Vincent de Paul are the three churches where the statue will be this weekend. Maybe you can contact one of the priests at these churches, their email is listed on the Our Lady of America website.
The more visibility Our Lady's statue gets, the more her children will come to know her and her Son. When all her sons are in compliance with her wishes, then the statue will be placed in D.C.
The messengers that carry the statue from site to site are doing a wonderful job, thank you!
I keep praying that we in San Antonio will get the opportunity to see her lovely statue at some point in her travels.

Well Martin, Our Lady asked to "Gather Together Her Bishops!" I guess they are finally listening to the Holy Spirit that is probably guiding them and the bishops are finally getting it.
Praise God, the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit!!
I was told the local Bishop in Fort Wayne was at the local parish last week and he gave a sermon that was very non-supportive of the OLA Rome City apparitions.
Was anybody there who can comment?
Isn't this the way it always seems to go with local Bishops and apparition sites? With all of the visible and written support from Bishops outside the local diocese lining up to support OLA, it just appears that the status quo for local Bishops is to try to shut things down in opposition and crush it. This just seems so disjointed to me that a canonically approved apparition and the attending messages would be suppressed like this. This must not be a very holy Bishop. My understanding is that he hadn't even investigated anything as of yet. Still, he is able to make a determination? This is preposterous! How will this affect those who have already been converted and healed through Our Lady's intercession and the work of the Holy Spirit? Are they supposed to deny what they know to be true? Some shepherd of the faith this guy is.
I would be willing to bet that if there was money in it for the diocese, he would change his tune in a heartbeat. All they seem to want these days is more and more money!
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made WORTHY of the promises of Christ!
Bp. D'Arcy is a good and holy man, and the diocese is fortunate to have him as Bishop. He is a fine Bishop, and the Church is better off because of his service and witness. Taking time in making decisions related to such things, and applying healthy skepticism, is his duty. He would be negligent if he did anything else.
Authentic apparitions and authentic apparition sites will prevail in the face of neccessary difficulties, while the inauthentic ones will be weeded out. It is for this reason that all good Bishops set very high and exacting standards, and remain focused on the Sacraments (especially the Eucharist) as the focus of Christian life.
C. Monaghan, I'm sure you had only the best intentions in your post, and did not mean to say anything bad about Bp. D'arcy, but your words could easily be misunderstood as accusing him of being unholy and greedy. He is neither one of those things. Implying such things, even mistakenly, can do nothing to help the cause of Our Lady of America... but it can do a great deal to harm it.
Satan always seeks to pit brother against brother, and the faithful against their Bishops. Speaking badly of a successor of the Apostles is a sign that the Holy Spirit is NOT working within us, and so is something to be always avoid. Since the Holy Spirit is responsible for the events at Rome City, through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, it is something that those supportive of Our Lady of America ought never to do.
If it was your intent to speak ill of Bp. D'Arcy, I strongly encourage you to confess such uncharity.
Luke Bruner said:
"Taking time in making decisions related to such things, and applying healthy skepticism, is his duty. He would be negligent if he did anything else."
He needs to investigate it BEFORE making negative statements. If he is doing otherwise, he is NOT doing his job as a fine Bishop as you declare him to be.
My intention is not to be uncharitable. It is to clarify accountability. We may not agree on this point.
C. Monaghan,
You are trashing a fine bishop in a very uncharitable way. A Bishop is accountable to the Holy Father and God, not to you.
Further, you yourself have not investigated what was supposedly said. You have no audio recording, no video tape, and no transcript of his remarks. Yet on merely hearing something might have been, you have already concluded that Bp. D'Arcy "must not be a very holy bishop.", have declared "This is preposterous!", And implied greed by stating, "I would be willing to bet that if there was money in it for the diocese, he would change his tune in a heartbeat. All they seem to want these days is more and more money!" Would you want the good Bp. to say such things about you?
In one breath you call for fair investigations, in the next you liable a good bishop without a fair investigation. That is exceptionally hypocritical, and Jesus had harsh words for hypocrites.
Friend, it may not be your intention to be uncharitable, but you are (none the less) being uncharitable. I strongly encourage you to repent, apologize, and renounce your previous calumnious statements.
If you don't do so you risk harming OLTIV and Our Lady of America, by having our good names associated with this immoral trashing of Bp. D'Arcy.
The above statement was not to imply that I'm involved with OLTIV or OLOA in an official way, only that I am a supporter of both Our Lady of America and OLTIV, and consider myself attatched to them both due to that.
As I said previously, "My intention is not to be uncharitable. It is to clarify accountability. We may not agree on this point."
I guess we will not agree.
CM,
Your intention may not have been to liable, caluminate, and trash Bp. D'Arcy, but your results did just that.
Unintentional uncharity is still uncharity, and a very very serious offense against both God and Bp. D'Arcy. Please apologize and renounce your unsubstantiated personal attacks against the Bishop. Refusal to do see is scandalous to all the faithful reading this blog.
As for clarifying accountability, there seems to be no evidence that you actually seek to do that. Bp. D'Arcy is not accountable to you, and by all accounts has been exceedingly generous in dealing with Sylvan Springs. He could have placed the location under interdict, banning all Sacraments from being performed there, if he wished.
So you see, your intention is irrelevant, because the result is so vicious and uncalled for.
Dear Luke-
Sorry to bust your bubble, but after speaking with several people who WERE at the Mass, I could say more about what this Bishop said. For the record, he did say that he was going to ban priests from saying any further Masses at Sylvan Springs because there is "nothing there". Several people reportedly walked out on his sermon in disgust.
He admitted he had NOT made any investigations, yet he had decided there was "nothing there". Support him all you want. I think he is wrong.
Forgive me if I do not agree with your sense of "generosity", but I do not see as how this is supportive in any way (Our Lady of America, OLTIV, or Sylvan Springs).
As for the money comment, you must be young and idealistic and have not had your name on the "Bishop's Appeal" mailing list for years as I have. They ALWAYS want money. The Church is burning money faster than California is burning pine trees right now. You may be faithful but you are also naive if you don't smell the smoke.
I'll apologize for being cynical.
Enjoy the crow.
"For the record, he did say that he was going to ban priests from saying any further Masses at Sylvan Springs because there is "nothing there"."
THAT is WONDERFUL news. God bless the Bishop D'Arcy! He demonstrates great discernment and wisdom in his assessment the there is NOTHING at Sylvan Springs.
Now it is time for the rest of you good people to heed the example of your Shepherd and cease any association with this Sylvanus Springs nonsense. Go to your own parish churches and worship our Lord and His Most Holy Mother there!
God bless you all greatly!
Great Discernment and Wisdom? He is making a fool of himself in his last year in this diocese. How can he say anything like this when all of the evidence says otherwise?
He never even made an investigation. How can that exemplify discernment and wisdom? At least the Bishop in Medugorje has done an investigation.
Once again, Anonymous, you have shown yourself to be a mindless drone who is looking to kill all that is good and hopeful in this world.
Dear Anonymous-
You may want to know that when the Bishop made this ridiculous announcement and proclaimed "nothing was there", several people who knew, far better than he did what is going on, got up and walked out on him.
This Bishop is old and wearing down. It is time for someone who will put the effort into this canonically-approved devotion so it is fostered for all of this country's truly faithful torchbearers.
I think this is GREAT NEWS because this puts the Rome City apparitions on par with ALL of the GREAT SHRINES in the world.
If there was not the love and growing admiration from so many for this movement, I would be concerned if the local was NOT doing what he is doing. All of the TRUE SHRINES that have been blessed by Our Lady's presence underwent this same local persecution by their Bishops. They all came to know the truth in the end and that truth endures. Just as Rome City and Sylvan Springs will too.
Thank you to all of the people moving the statue about the country. Ask your Bishop to invite it to YOUR dioceses. It Has to be invited by the local Bishop.
Thank you to all of the people who put in the time to maintain this blog space so we can have a place to discuss or vent or share our stories of hope, conversion, strengthening of spirit, family formation, determination, and the manifestations by the Holy Spirit that have helped those who have visited this very special place!
Thank you to the Our Lady of America supporters who have been working to pass out 1.5 M prayer cards. Please contact them and ask for them to send prayer cards so you can distribute them at your Church, class, or prayer group.
Thank you to Larry and his wife and family who must be going through such torment right now. Please hang in there because you are doing great things for all of us. Our Lady chose you for a reason. I pray that the help you need from good catholics arrives soon.
Thank you to Our Lady of America for interceding on my husband's behalf. His kidney ailments are all but gone now and he will live as long as I don't kill him while he recuperates at home. +++
What we CAN do to help:
The Our Lady of America Center encourages us to petition not the Bishops with our signatures, but rather petition Heaven with our prayers. The bishops are generally not moved by "votes", but rather through the promptings of the Holy Spirit. If you want Our Lady of America's request to be fulfilled then offer prayers, Masses, fasting and acts of charity.
Why not all of us (including those reading this blog even if not commenting) begin a novena of personal choice (perhaps to the Holy Spirit or a rosary novena) beginning Nov. 1st with the intention that at the next gathering of bishops there will be enough to carry the others to set a date for the actual enthronement of the image of OLOA in the Basilica in Washington and fulfill Her requests - before it's too late.
Thanks Kris, for the reminder to offer our prayers, joys and sufferings, and for those you can to fast for Our Lady's cause.
During this time of uncertainty, agitation and a weakening of our views and spirit, prayer is the armour we need to put on. It is our shield against the evil of this world.
Nov. 1, All Saint's Day, what a better way than that - to say our novena's and petition the Heavens for our Saints intercession to Jesus through Mary!
God Bless,

I am saddened to hear all the negative comments of Bishop D'Arcy
They are unfair!
You must all make a distinction between what happened in 1956 and what is happening now. They are not the same thing. The events of 1956 have been investigated and approved; Bishop D'Arcy accepts that and supports devotion to Our Lady of America and a return to Purity. He has also re-iterated what is in Our Lady's message; that the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. is to be the place of pilgrimage for this devotion.
What is happening today is not the same thing as that which happened in 1956. There may be miracles occurring there, or maybe not; I don't know. In reality miracles abound about us daily. However, the Mother of God rarely makes Herself manifest in the extreme way that She did in these apparitions. The miracles that are purported to be happening today at this sight, even if true, pale in comparison to the miracle of 1956. If you love Our Lady of America you must focus on what she said and did back then and strive your best to live Her message. If you have experienced a personal miracle at Rome City, then praise be Jesus and His Holy Mother. But that is your gift. The devotion to Our Lady of America is a gift to the entire world. Do not let these minor gifts detract from the spreading of the message.
Keep your eye and heart on the message.
I am a new advocate of OLA. I ran accross a blog online about her and googled it in July of this year.
I think a novena starting on Nov.1,2007 would be an excellent idea. I truly believe that we need to do what we can do and pray, pray, pray and leave the rest up to her. I will continue to pass out prayer cards and tell people individually about her. She will give us the perfect opportunities to promote her. What all of us need to do is pray constantly, be open to the Holy Spirit to spread her message, and let her do the rest. Be vigilant but let her take control. We are not in this alone!
For those who might be afraid of a novena - some are quite long and involved - here is a simple one to the Holy Spirit:
http://www.catholicculture.org/liturgicalyear/prayers/view.cfm?id=1039
At the very end is the request for answering any specific intention, besides those of our own needs to become more gifted by the Holy Spirit - which we all need in these times.
