Saturday, October 13

It was on Saturday, October 13, 1917 that the Miracle of The Sun took place at Fatima.

It was on Saturday, October 13, 1956 that what many consider to be the most important message of Our Lady of America was given to Sr. Millie in the Our Lady Mother of Mercy Chapel in Rome City, IN. It was this particular message that many involved in promoting the OLA devotion have taken as their main focus in educating the Bishops: Our Lady's request that She be enthroned as "Our Lady of America" in the National Basilica to the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Our Lady promised "miracles greater than those of Lourdes and Fatima" if her request was fulfilled. Due to the protocols involved with statuary displays in Basilicas, it is up to the Bishops to fulfill this request.

There must be something special about Saturday, October 13 for Our Blessed Mother because She seems to do some of Her most important work on this particular day/date.

The door will be open if you would like to join us in praying a rosary in the Our Lady Mother of Mercy Chapel in Rome City, IN.

.
P.S. She asks that you bring the children with you.

************SPECIAL THANK YOU***********

We would also like to give a big THANK YOU to Alex Fiato at The Italian Connection Restaurant in Fort Wayne, IN for all his hard work in assisting OLTIV in its efforts to spread this devotion. As President of The Father Solanus Casey Knights of Columbus, Alex has a great depth of knowledge of all things Marian, especially the historical connections between Rome City and The Mystical City of God.

Alex has made Wednesday and Thursday FAMILY NIGHT at his restaurant and he is running a dinner special/fundraiser for OLTIV. The whole family can have an affordable sit-down dinner and Alex is able to share information packets on the Our Lady of America messages after the family offers an open prayer of thanks before their meal.

Alex reports that the response from families coming in for the special as well as his regular patrons has been astounding. He says it has made people, who otherwise would be unaware of Our Lady's requests, well-informed of this canonically-approved special devotion and has motivated many to make a their own pilgrimage to Rome City seeking help with their own special intentions and spiritual growth.

If you would like more info on this unique program and how you can go about spreading the word through your own business, call Alex directly at 260-432-9702. He will be happy to share with you his experience to help you in your own efforts.

Alex is a great guy and apillar of the community. The K of C is an incredible organization. It's such a natural fit that he is the current President.

I hope the Lord blesses the Church with more faithful Catholics like Alex.

Did anyone go to the Greenwood conference that could give a first-hand report? The streaming video/sound did not work and I got frustrated trying to follow what was going on.

I took a few friends to the Italian Connection last week to check things out. I have to admit I was a bit suspicious when I first read about this "fundraiser" in the paper.

When we got there, it was a deliteful surprise! A quaint little restaurant with delicious home-made pasta and sauce and a real love for Our Lady!!

Alex came out and spoke with us re: the events of Our Lady of America and had good info for us to take with. He suggested we go to Rome City and see the place for ourselves and to take the tour before the rosary on Fridays. No hard sell, just information on a canonically-approved event that happened right in our own backyard.

Thank you Alex for a wonderful dinner!

Now that the blog is taking comments from everyone again, I figured I would "weigh-in" with my progress (see, I'm getting a sense of humor again).

Anyway, RCIA classes are proceeding nicely and my husband and I are doing great! My last check-up showed me down by 168 pounds from my starting point this summer. The doctors put me on a new diet that balances my nutrition (it turns out I was actually starving myself of vital nutrients even though I was over 600 lbs.) and lets me eat up to 5 times/day. I feel great and I am even walking around the block several times each day. It is hard for me to talk when I walk, but I do a lot of prayerful thinking as I make my rounds.

Thank you to OLA and all of the people on this community for all of your prayers.

Dear ILK,

Well, yes, we are finally back East from our trip to Rome City and then on to visit my brother's family in Louisville, KY.

I've hesitated to write yet because it is difficult to express experience, both inward and outward, properly, when speaking of a place that's obviously in the midst of a great plan in the will of God, involving His mother, for America and then the world, in these times of ours.

I do wish, though, to express mine and my husband's great gratitude to Sue and Nick for all the attention they so selflessly gave for us. Every aspect of the history of this place is retained in the memory of Nick, an especially chosen man for this role to tell others. And Sue's "extras" so we could have a picnic at night! The place is fascinating - the people attached with it each fascinating. Its very foundation, basement, structure, history, amazed us. I also had some sharing of deep feelings from another dear assistant there, Ruby. These people express just the way God works in this world. So, thank you to them.

There are signs and there is Mystery involved here. To be able to visit the chapel, late at night, all alone, in this large place of Catholic history, (just in the building alone) and pray, looking at the image of our Lady as Our Lady of Lourdes, where She appeared to Sr. Millie, with just a light shining upon Her, makes one feel that he/she is participating in this large Mystery, meant to help the entire world, especially America. Quiet, facing God through His Own perfection of creation. And...Her eyes...the most human looking eyes on a statue I've seen...her expression, very sad indeed, still pleading, still interceding for us, Her children. It was as though her eyes were welled with tears, ready to fall softly down her cheeks. And no one sees this????

I gathered the water and have given it to grateful friends. My own "miracles" I carry in my heart...again, in that greater awesome Mystery. I feel that this area is a kind of Bethlehem in waiting, preparing, for the FULLNESS of RECOGNITION of the arrival of the Virgin with her Babe and her chaste spouse. As She "pondered these things in her heart" before, she still watches and ponders from here, all that is taking place all over America to answer her requests, finally.

I await with all of you, the further blessings to come which will bring crowds of returning children to their Mother. One by one, we bring Her the children, as the Father works through His little faithful ones.

So, go. Bring the busloads. And...does no one speak about the work in the hundreds of beautiful guest rooms, awaiting the pilgrims? So much work done by the few - truly outstanding and beautiful. It has to be rewarded. Why, we were even blessed with the Bridal Suite!! The Spirit is moving through the springs (water) and the sign of that is Love. It is true, in the messages, that the graces are enormous for the healing of souls, spirits...and some of those coming through the physical healings too. Hearts must be opened to receive what is offered here at Rome City through OLOA/OLTIV...if we are to be helped. So pray!

Dear Kris,
I am so happy and excited that you finally were able to see the Springs. What a truly wonderful place that Our Lady has chosen to share herself with her "little people", her children.

This wonderful experience will forever be imprinted upon your heart and mind as it is in mine.

My trip in August was awesome as well, as you said, Nick has all this beautiful history in his memory and shares it so softly and eloquently. Nick has indeed been "chosen" to relay these passages to all the children that come.

As you also mentioned the "rooms" are exquisitely done. The decor is the most beautiful artwork I have ever seen and it is created by a few ladies that dedicate their work to Our Lady.

Looking at my pictures every few days, I remember more and more little tidbits of information that were shared with me and my friends.

God and Our Lady are truly awesome, and I pray that all will come to see the light and place their souls upon the Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

If anyone has hesitated in going to this beautiful place, do yourself a favor and take the trip of a lifetime, you will never regret the time spent in this little bit of Heaven on Earth.

God bless each and every person working to bring Our Lady's requests to fulfillment.

The work in the rooms was actually done mostly by Larry and Lynn. She did the decorating along with all of the shopping to make all of the rooms unique...just like each of us.

This really is a great treasure. It will be a shame if no good Catholic people step up to help Lynn and Larry finish this fantastic place and preserve for all of us.

Nick, Sue, Ruby, and Carol are all beautiful people who have faithfully rallied around this family. Alex Fiato is another one of these people as are Irv and the Friday Night Rosary group led by Dianne and her family.

Everyone who has been helping promote OLA on this website community is to be thanked also. I remember back in the beginning, KRIS was not very friendly towards the Rome City efforts but now has changed her frame of thought 180 degrees. It just goes to show that with careful discernment, the TRUTH always prevails.

Welcome to the club KRIS and J. Stolle and all of the other thousands of pilgrims who have made the journey this year.

WE BELIEVE in Rome City!!!

I don't remember Kris having any real doubts. She, and we know now that Kris is a She now, since no one has ever asked and she informed us all of this is her letter in reference to her Husband, :-)--- anyway Kris has always been so eloquent in her comments, and also always has known so much in regarding how to find answers to many of the questions posed on the comments. If Kris ever had a doubt, it most have been just some time she needed to check it out, and discern for herself.

Kris, you are a welcome contributor to the blog always open to others views and always treating all with respect. I am happy for you that you were also finally able to make your pilgrimage. I hope all of us can someday do that soon.

Why isn't there any mention on the "official site" about the statue being in Milwaukee? They do not respond to my emails.

Thank you for the posting. Without it, I never would have come to know She was in Milwaukee. We will be going to see Her tomorrow.

Gloria: "I remember back in the beginning, KRIS was not very friendly towards the Rome City efforts but now has changed her frame of thought 180 degrees. It just goes to show that with careful discernment, the TRUTH always prevails."

Gloria, I am truly sorry if you were given that impression by me or my comments...in the beginning. But, in defense of my motives, that is just not true. I came to this website/blog by bits and pieces - at first only hearing about it as a place connected to the history of OLOA which I had already been working for, in a small way, but not understanding the exact future or plans for this lovely spot. I understand that Larry himself did not realize the role he was to play either, when he first purchased the property and people in general weren't sure of its future. Until this blog was established so that people were able to learn more about Rome City, there was truly little known about the current status. And since it was privately owned, no blame for that should be placed anywhere.

Anyway, that said, I did notice and still do notice some lack of understanding of the roles that each place connected to OLOA seem to be asked to play. There should not, to my mind and heart, be comparisons made as to the timing in God's plan for Fostoria, Sr. Joseph, and Rome City with its own workers for Mary. No one knows the mind or heart of those trying to be obedient in what they are each asked to do.

I have not suddenly become a believer from having seen for myself as you seem to imply. I rather, went out of my way BECAUSE I had an open heart for blessings to be received from our pilgrimage to Rome City. I went WITH expectations of belief...NOT to be convinced.

One thing I do know is that our Lady does not want any animosity or jealousy or division in ANY of her movements. In fact, that can only be hurtful for the struggle to win over the bishops.

My understanding is that those who are working so hard to have the statue visit as many places as possible where they are invited by the bishop or priests, are also the ones who take care of the website. They can't do everything. I suppose when they are busy with one thing the other might get neglected. They are being so careful that everything is straight arrow. Our Lady always places obedience first - as she herself is the best example. It's just like any movement in its struggles. And there should be sympathy as well for one sister who has a huge responsibility on her shoulders to be certain of what she does and what she says when she knows that the bishops are the ones who have to act.

I am sorry when that sympathy for all concerned is not accepted. One feels a certain interfering spirit then.

Hope I explained myself and my motivations - which really have not been as you may have felt. That's the trouble with comment sections. People cannot receive all that may be intended and then judgments are made.

Anyway, I leave it all in that powerful prayer..."Mary, take over"...not us. God's blessings on all.

P.S. And jstolle, you were also spoken of fondly during our visit. Were your ears ringing?!

Kris- For the record, I am smiling broadly and I am agreeing with you. I still think your comments have become far more supportive of Rome City since coming to know the FULL truth of what Our Lady of America is about (not just the Fostoria version). I think this is happening with lots of people who thought they had ALL of the facts before coming to know of OLA's obvious plans in Rome City through this blog. If they don't believe it by now, that's too bad. This train is rolling on!

Maybe I am in error, and if so, I apologize, but have you always signed your contributions or were your earliest comments done anonymously? Back in December, there were a few early comments that had your well-informed perspective that were decidedly supportive of Fostoria. This commentor has not been back since you began signing as KRIS. It is mainly upon these early letters that I was basing my comment. If this was not you, then mea culpa!! Please accept my most heartfelt apology and understand there wasn't ever any adversarial intent on my part.

I know this explanation may be TOTALLY inadequate, but I was just trying to point out something I saw as a positive.

Let us all find ourselves with Our Lady and Her Son and the Father in our own way and own time.

Let us all have patience with our own errors of judgment and judge not others.

Let us all ring out with the beauty of the life of God.

Let us all know we are all ONE together in everything in God!!

Our Lady of America comes to St. Patrick Church

The pilgrim statue of Our Lady of America will be at St. Patrick's Church (724 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA 70130) this weekend and will be honored with a special Mass on Saturday, October 20, at 10:00 a.m., Fr. Stan Klores, Celebrant. All are invited to come honor Our Lady and pray for ourselves, our families, and our country.

On September 26, 1956, the Blessed Mother, under a specific appearance as "Our Lady of America," first manifested herself to Sister Mary Ephrem in the Convent of the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood in Rome City, Indiana. Our Lady indicated to Sister Mary that she had come in response to the United States having recognized her privilege of the Immaculate Conception, especially through the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The first words She spoke were: "I am Our Lady of America. I desire that my children honor me, especially by the purity of their lives."

The messages to Sister Mary received the Imprimatur of Monsignor Paul Liebold, auxiliary bishop and Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, in 1963, and he authorized the printing of these messages in the form of a diary.

Our Lady came with a message to the United States to focus on purity. She also asked that a statue of Our Lady of America be enshrined in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Our Lady promised miracles greater than Lourdes and Fatima if her children heeded her warnings and fulfilled her requests.

It is to aid in the fulfillment of these requests that this invitation is extended.
