September 27, 1956
On September 27, 1956, Our Lady again appeared to me while I was at prayer. She held the world in her hands. From her eyes tears were flowing upon it, as though she longed to cleanse it from its guilt.
It was then that I heard these words filled with sorrow and longing:
'"Behold, O my children, the tears of your Mother! Shall I weep in vain? Assuage the sorrow of my Heart over the ingratitude of sinful men by the love and chasteness of your lives. Will you do this for me, beloved children, or will you allow your Mother to weep in vain? I come to you, O children of America, as a last resort. I plead with you to listen to my voice. Cleanse your souls in the Precious Blood of My Son. Live in His Heart, and take me in that I may teach you to live in great purity of heart which is so pleasing to God. Be my army of chaste soldiers, ready to fight to the death to preserve the purity of your souls. I am the Immaculate One, Patroness of your land. Be my faithful children as I have been your faithful Mother.
"These are my words, O my daughter. Make them known to my children. I desire to make the whole of America my shrine by making every heart accessible to the love of my Son."

Went to the OLA website, and LOOK at this intro:
Beginning on September 26, 1956, the Blessed Virgin Mary, under a specific appearance as "Our Lady of America," manifested Herself to Sister Mary Ephrem (Mildred Neuzil) in the Convent of the Precious Blood Sisters at Rome City, Indiana.
Is it just me or is this the first time they have actually included Rome City in the details? Hurray!
J.M.J. be with us all today!

I believe this intro has been worded this way for about a year now.
I feel it is peculiar that more effort is not made on the OLA website to include the rich history and mysticism of Rome City events as part of the information. I mean, the number of spiritual conversions alone should be reason enough to celebrate this good news.
I've been to Lourdes and Medugorje several times since 1990. As others have already stated here, I have no desore to travel all that way anymore when I can drive 4 hours to Rome City and feel all the closeness without all the difficult travel. It won't be long before the "sleeping giant" of the American Church wakes up to realize this precious jewel is right in its heartland.
If anyone can make the journey to Rome City, just do it, you will never regret it. It is the most beautiful setting I have ever experienced. The sense of peace, tranquility and holiness will touch you the minute you step foot on the property.
Be sure to take the time to sit up on the Hill and offer up a heartfelt prayer, or pray the Rosary, you will be rewarded richly by Our Lady and Her Son.
As Our Lady's statue travels across this country, awakening the sleeping, I feel more people will once again come to know Our Lady intimately and she in turn will guide their souls to love her Son.
God's blessings to each of you.
