A few bits of news to report and pieces of mind to share...

Our Lady of America Heads to New Jersey

Bit:

The Our Lady of America statue made its way to Newark, New Jersey on Saturday and was scheduled to be processed around the neighborhoods with local firefighters and police leading the escort of this brave new image of Our Lady as She first appeared in the Our Lady Mother of Mercy Chapel on September 26, 1956 to Sr. Millie.

It was reported that EVERY engine company in the city asked to be part of this procession but that they could only allow 4 of the local fire houses to be in the parade due to parking issues. Maybe next time they can all fit.

Piece:

There is a great amount of patriotism and spiritual faith being blended here by these processions being boldly led by our own civic heroes in our communities. I see this as a natural response of our community leaders to something that makes too much sense to ignore. After all, this country was founded as "One Nation Under God".

Our Lady came to ask Her children of America to be the torchbearers and Her children are responding with obedience and respect...just as they should.

Let us pray that these processions, which were actually instigated by the well-placed calls of one particular gentleman who felt called to act by the prompting of Our Lady, will continue in each and every city this magnificent symbol travels to in the months and years ahead.

New York and New Jersey have set the precedent and now it is up to the rest of the country to follow this good example by organizing our local civic leaders and firefighting heroes to pay tribute to their fallen brothers and sisters by honoring this image of Our Lady of America when She visits them in their own community.

Our Lady of America APPROVED in Medugorjie!?

Bit:

A gentleman named Rick who was attending the Friday Night Rosary and Benediction service commented how he had just returned from Medugorjie, again, and that he was excited to report that during the Mass in Medugorjie, one of the special intentions offered was for the placement of the Our Lady of America statue in the National Shrine in Washington, D.C.

Piece:

How profound it is that the movement for confirmation of Our Lady of America is taking root in places like Medugorjie after being transplanted by traveling pilgrims. How sad it is that a man who lives just 75 minutes from where Our Lady of America began has to travel HALF WAY AROUND THE GLOBE to hear a special intention for the confirmation of Our Lady of America.

We need to take it upon OURSELVES to help change this. Whenever you have an opportunity to make an open petition at Mass, ask for the Holy Spirit to inspire all of our Bishops to work as quickly as possible to enthrone the Our Lady of America image in Her rightful place of honor in The National Shrine to the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Anyone can submit special intentions at Medjugorje. That does NOT mean that it is approved at Medjugorje. I am quite certain that Our Lady of Medjugorje would DISAPROVE of this horrid lady of Sylvanus Springs statue being installed in the shrine at the Capitol to represent her.

God bless you all and protect the Shrines to the Blessed Virgin Mary from contamination with false images of her.

I was in Medjugorje with my daughter and niece for three days last week and we heard this petition for OLA at 2 Masses and it was always mentioned by the priest and not anyone in attendance.

Medjugorje is not approved of anything at this point whereas OLA IS approved as a special devotion by the Church. I believe in Medjugorje because of the deep spirituality one feels while there. My daughter has been to Rome City several times since 2005 and attests that the "feeling" is even stronger there. I think this was our last trip to Medjugorje as my health is not as good and the travel is wearisome.

For the record, I think the comment was rude but very deserving given that this obnoxious anonymous person continues to pour venomous insults into these discussions. I believe her comments are very hurtful to Our Lady's goals for Sylvan Springs and Rome City.

Jesus said we needed to LOVE each other. He didn't say we had to LIKE them.

Anonymous are you afraid to post your name . Do you always hide behind a vail of darkness? If you are so proud to stand up and make these comments, then have the courage to be named. The prince of darkness tries to hide behind this vail, but many see through the falsehood with prayer. I will offer Mass for you that through some Miracle, Mary, through the intersession of Jesus, will open your eyes as well as your heart to just love Mary in whatever form of devotion she uses to call her children to her Son. Throughout history Mary has call her children to herself through different Titles. Mother of God; Queen of Heaven; The Immaculate Conception; Guadalupe, Mexico, 1531, Our Lady Of Guadalupe; Lourdes, France, 1858, Our Lady of Lourdes; Fatima, Portugal, 1917, Our Lady of Fatima; Akita, Japan, 1973 Our Lady of Akita; Our Lady of Medjugorje, 1981; Saint Faustina of the Divine Mercy, 1931; Our Lady of Betania, 1954; Our Lady of La Sallette, 1846; Our Lady of Knock, 1879; Our Lady of Beauraing, 1932; Saint Catherine Laboure of the Miraculous Medal, 1830; Our Lady of Garabandal, 1961; Our Lady of Banneux, 1933; Our Lady of America, 1956. What do you care if Our Lady of America is installed in the National Shrine? Our Lady of America may be the only title that someone hears that brings them back to or for that matter for the first time to know and Love Jesus. We each are called to different Devotions. None are better than the other if the final result is to Love our Lord.
Gods Peace be with you.

I think anonymous missed the humor and irony in the Medugorje "approved" headline entirely.

We need to be more brave in our spreading of this devotion and invite more people to pray with us on Friday evenings, and every day for that matter, for the enthronement of Our Lady of America.

I am trying to re-schedule some appointments for this week so I can make a special pilgrimage to Rome City sometime during these next three anniversary dates. I would so love to be there on Tuesday to offer thanks.

I think it's a great idea to have Our Lady of America processions led by our firefighters and police officers when She comes to town

Is there any long-range schedule posted anywhere that we could be planning ahead? Can anyone with OLA help out with info here? I think this would send a powerful message throughout our land to do this.

Well, just returned from visiting OLOA statue after its arrival last evening (again by firemen/police I believe) in Howell, NJ. She will be returning later this week to the Cathedral (Sacred Heart?) in Newark.

SHE IS BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL!! One feels that she could begin moving and speaking literally at any moment. The whiteness of the large image also heralds the message of purity. And I believe that she is especially American in this image. There is both the simplicity as well as a certain rugged beauty that reflects those who struggled so hard with faith to build this country from its beginnings. Just travel through the Appalachians sometime and reflect on just what it took to pioneer from east to west - the struggles, sacrifices, hardships involved. One could not get that from any less powerful image. She seems to be a traveling "apparition" for all to participate in.

And the people at this wonderful, simple parish who were active in her coming have great hope for this Nov's bishops' meeting for approval for its enthronement in the Wash. basilica, but still urge much prayer leading up to that meeting. So, let's all pray for this very strongly.

The number of visitors today appeared to be quite steady - and there are many devotions carried on during the week. There was a table set up for handing on the vital info and many people were learning for the first time about this history with Sr. Millie - including of course Rome City.

If you want her...ask. And since she wants purity and leadership, let's carry on our conversation here with that in mind.

Kris-
WHO do we ask?

Karina,

Ask Mary for the gift of herself. She won't refuse you.

Anonymous,

Just why are you quite certain of such a thing? You never give reasons, only insults.

Who would hurl terrible insults, anonymously, against the Blessed Mother? Where does your hostility come from? Every time you post we pray for you, and you respond with harshness and venom.

My friend, I suggest you are working for dark forces. For your own sake, pray for humility.

Karina,

Well, you could start by informing any pastor who is Marian in personality and have the important facts with you when you do. Let them know that the statue is traveling throughout America with the approval of several bishops. You can get all the info re: canonical approval, Mother Angelica's involvement, Franciscan order involvement as well as all the recent NY 9/11 news at:

http://www.ourladyofamerica.com/news.php

I believe that the parish involved that I visited worked through the men making the decision about the logistics, etc. If you get genuine interest and have things worked through your parish - a plan; or if you have a bishop with interest and you can tell him just which parishes would be interested in cooperating with the visit and you get his cooperation, write down your plans and send them through the email address given at www.ourladyofamerica.com:

webmaster@ourladyofamerica.com

Of course any bishop himself inviting the traveling statue can communicate through this address above.

Since there may be a lot of education involved it may take a little while. I know that I am just beginning with a very shy, reticent pastor (about almost anything!). But I believe that our Lady rewards sincere efforts...and look just how long she has to wait most of the time!

When I inquired at the above address about the possibility of the statue traveling to another diocese, I received the reply that they would be most happy to visit if the bishop I referred to invited the statue. (he happened to be one they were knowledgeable of his probable sincere interest).

The logistics of getting the large statue anywhere is of course not a casual thing but must be worked out...but they know the ways.

I guess we have to show our own willingness to make inquiries, etc., as Larry mentioned.

P.S. (I seem to be becoming a real blabbermouth!)

If you know any firemen or priests who are chaplains to firemen/police - show them all the stories about the great enthusiasm of police and firemen in all these most recent visits and get their influence and cooperation for a statue visit in your area.

I just viewed the pictures from New Jersey, they were beautiful. It is so nice to see all the people following Our Lady in procession, very touching.

Many blessings to all that are able to attend the Springs and pray together, and to those praying at home for her intentions.

Happy Anniversary Our Lady of America!

It has been 51 years, and in this last year You have come such a long, long way.

May all of your pilgrims who are devoted to you remain as such, and may they love Your Son as you ask of them with the Purity of their Souls!

May our devotion to you grant us blessings and graces througout the coming year as we work to fulfill Your wishes to be placed into the Shrine in Washington, D.C.!

Grant us: Peace and Purity of Love!

Luke & Larry and anyone else interested-
You may want to check out this website and description of an apparition and messages from Our Lady.

http://www.holymotherchurch.org./1656267.html

This website not only contains a link to Our Lady of America.com., it also provides information about various pilgrimages. Perhaps they would include a link to oltiv.org, especially since Rome City is the only church approved apparition site in the U.S., and welcomes "All Her children" to experience the miraculous phenomena occurring here.
God Bless!

I have caught the OLA fever. The procession in Howell, NJ was impressive and VERY inspirational. I was PROUD to be an American Catholic and show others gathered my OLA medallion.

Several of us began talking about Rome City and we would like to know if anyone is interested in getting a bus trip from the NYC area to Rome City?

Speaking of groups travelling to Rome City, is anyone in or around the K.C. or St. Louis area planning on travelling to Rome City in the near future? I've heard there is a group called the Intercessors of the Lamb in Sr. Louis...any of their members going? If my husband and I could meet anyone planning to go, please email info@oltiv.org.
We were there in July, and I can't wait to go back! Whether you have been there or not, it is an experience beyond words!
To Our Lady of America - May your requests be fulfilled soon, dear Mother, and may we be witnesses to the Triumph of Your Immaculate Heart!
Spread the word...travel to Medjugorge for this mission not required..(Ha Ha). Spread the news locally, regionally, nationally. We'll be the voices crying out in
the desert!
Pray the rosary and "Damn the torpedoes full speed ahead"....to Pound the Hill!
May God Bless us and Mary keep us,
pam j

I agree with pam j in that you do not need to go to Mejugorje or Lourdes or Fatima to get the same closeness to Our Lord and Our Lady that is available to you right here in the middle of our own country. Rome City has changed my life by introducing me to the Blessed Mother in a way I never knew before. She has brought me to the foot of the cross and has guided me in coming to know the great gift in the Eucharist like never before.

I have been encouraging my pastor to go, but he is reluctant to go with me because he is wary of all apparitions. Even Fatima and Medjugorje. Please pray for Fr. Walton and make the trip to Rome City, IN for yourself. Take your family if you can. I believe this is important.

What the people in the processions are feeling is nothing compared to how they would feel if they were gathered together in the chapel in Rome City. I firmly believe this!

Something that was done during the rosaries at St. Veronica's in Howell, N.J., was that the leader of the prayers (a great young man who is very active in Marian happenings and devotions), before each of the 50 Hail Mary's, he said the name of each state, beginning in alphabetical order, with the prayer dedicated for all souls of that state so that all of Her children were brought to Her! Nice treatment - perhaps this is done other places too - I don't know. I just love that all of this is being brought together in God's holy will and timing and more people are being exposed to the whole history and messages.

Happy Birthday OLA!!

51 Years and still growing.

Please help spread the devotion of OLA by inviting friends and family to join you at the Friday Rosary, either in Rome City or in your own home, and continue to pray for the Bishops.

Also, please remember to send help to OLTIV to help them in their efforts to gain full ownership of this magnificent property and bring an order of good priests or religious to oversee it for the pilgrims according to Our Lady's wishes.

Please pray for my husband who is only 53 but has been having memory problems, so much so that he has had to take a medical leave from work. I have been praying that this is something that medical tests will reveal to be reversed and not early dementia. There is no family history. His spinal fluid is being tested. He is just the greatest, kindest, most wonderful, loving man I have ever know. The best Dad and husband. Althought I know I should not "be afraid," I am.
