These two comments were left this past week from people who were obedient to the call to come to Rome City...one directly, the other indirectly. Isn't it funny how things work out sometimes? To get to one, you sometimes have to go through another.

I was told by Our Lord Jesus to "go to Rome City and wash in the waters" last night. This morning I asked friends of mine from Church if they would drive me to Rome City so I could do as I was instructed. I knew in my heart that I was to wash in the water from the Good Friday well.
I had been following the events of Our Lady of America and had always received great encouragement in Her messages. I had shared my books with my friends and so they were very understanding when I asked them to help me get there today.
We prayed a full rosary together as we drove along the highway. As wecompleted the Divine Mercy chaplet, we were in Kendallville and I could feel my pulse getting quicker with anticipation of being in Our Lady's presence.
When we arrived at Sylvan Springs, we did not see anyone around at first. Then we saw a man working on a tractor by one of the barns and we asked him where we would find the water. He took us down to the well and it was really shooting out of there. I'm surprised we missed it as we drove by the first time but we were so full of excitement as we drove in I guess it was only natural.
He told us how the water had started flowing on Good Friday and how many people were coming to get the water and that it was very refreshing and very safe to drink.
I proceeded to wash in it and drink freely. It was some of the most refreshing water I had ever tasted and I felt a feeling come over me instantly that seemed to free me from any worry or pain I had been carrying with me. Jesus took it all away. We all drank some more and filled some containers to take with us.
Then we went in to see the chapel where the apparitions took place and it was almost too much for us to imagine that Our Lady had been there, in my own lifetime, and had given Sr. Neuzil these wonderful messages. I was standing right where She had been and I could hardly contain the emotion. We all began tearing up and prayed Hail Marys and asked for Her intercession in our lives to help us all. It was almost too emotional to describe.
As we were leaving, I suddenly realized that the man who was showing us around and being so kind to us was the owner Larry. He said he understood why we were there and that we were welcome to stay and pray as long as we needed. We talked about everything we felt the whole way home. I hope to return soon with more friends.
The fact that I am even typing this account is evidence that my terrible arthritic hands are working quite well this evening. I asked for my hands to be healed and Jesus was very good to this humble sinner today. Praise God and His Holy Name!

Then, the next day...

I have spent most all of this day at Adoration trying to make sense of my last 24 hours and praying for an answer if I should even say anything. Late this afternoon I got my answer while in confession and so I know I need to tell everyone no matter what may happen.
I was part of a small group that visited Sylvan Springs yesterday when I was asked to drive a dear friend of ours to Rome City because she felt Jesus had told her to go and wash in the water there. I have known this woman for many years and very holy and inspired things have always happened to and through her so I did not hesitate when she asked for the ride. I knew she had to do it. She has already told her story here.
It is a beautiful place and the owners are doing a great job keeping it up and trying to preserve the feeling of it for Our Lord's work. When I entered the chapel where the apparitions happened back in 1956 with Sr. M. Neuzil, I was met with a rush of wind across my face and I fell to my knees and rested in the spirit for what seemed like an eternity. This was a new sensation for me but I would have been happy to live that way the rest of my living days if I could.
The Virgin Mary appeared to me looking like Our Lady of America and she said "Thank you for bringing me my children". I was completely in a state of grace and could not say a word to anyone. I know now that I was crying, but at the time I was the most alive I have felt in all my life.
Our Lady is there and I felt her and saw her with my heart. She is waiting for us all and she does not care who you are or what you may have done. She is love and she wants us to know her son personally.
This is what I can say at this time and I know it all happened so quickly. I was not prepared for it. It shook me to my soul but I would be most happy to have that feeling all the time. If this is how heaven feels, I intend to do everything within my power to have that be my permanent feeling some day.
Do yourself a favor and make the trip and feel it for yourself. It was the best surprise I could have gotten.

I have to ask myself if the second writer was the main target of Our Lady's call and She just used the first woman as a device in getting the gentleman there so She could appear to him and deliver Her thanks. Or is it all just a part of the same calling and he was an "extra opportunity" for Our Lady to reveal Herself in such a wonderful way?
Either way, it really is an amazing story that deserves to be shared with all. Please forward this page to all who you feel may benefit from this awareness of Our Lady's requests.
May God Bless Us All and our Bishops in this cause.
One way we can get the word out about Our Lady of America is to e-mail our media sources - tv, radio, newspapers. To help people contact these sources, let's post e-mail addresses we send the link to - this way we can just cut and paste the address. The link is under the picture of Sylvan Springs where it says "send this page to a friend"
The following are some e-mail addresses. The e-mail addresses are separated by a semi-colon:
foxnewsonline@foxnews.com; wsbtnews@wsbt.com;newscenter16@wndu.com;
SBTNews@sbtinfo.com;
morningshow@fox28.com;foxnews@fox28.com;
This is a pretty good idea!
My suggestion...
collect the email addresses for the newspapers, radioa nd television stations in your area or from magazine you subscribe to. Post them here on the website and we can all send this page to all of the media emails we can get. If more people send to the same place, it will get more attention.
Then, all of these emails can be collected by the people running this website and they can be linked automatically. We just have to put the lists together. Don't worry about sending the same email twice.
Pound The Hill!
Pound The e-mails!
Pound The Media!!
Good people,
You are focusing too much on worldly methods and means. Don't you realize if this place in Indiana were a place where Our Lady had truly appeared that God Himself would see to it that people knew about it? When the Lord is involved people have no need to concern themselves with worldly methods of letter writing and media exposure. The Lord has no need of such trifles. His ways are not man's ways. His ways are infallible and much more certain than silly media stunts.
There was no need of such letter writing campaigns to make Medjugorje one of the most popular apparition sites among the faithful. All that was needed was the apparitions themselves to bring multitudes of pilgrims to pray and worship there. THAT is all that is needed -- true apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grace they bestow on a particular place...such as Medjugorje. When THAT happens YOU CAN'T KEEP PEOPLE AWAY! Then there is no need to try to coax people to come...wild horses can't keep them away! That is exactly what has happened at Medjugorje and Betania. People are flocking there in droves with no need of publicity or spam campaigns.
Just the opposite is true of that Sylvan Springs park. It attracts no one. It lacks the spiritual force that draws people to a place where the Queen of Heaven has truly appeared, such as Medjugorje. It is time that you good people realize that apparition sites and places of pilgrimage are not man-made. You cannot produce a place of pilgimage by your sole efforts because they are not the work of man's hands but the work of God. This is why Sylvan Springs will NEVER be a place of pilgimage...no matter what you do. Human efforts are not enough.
So cease and desist from this illusory pursuit of pilgrimage status for that Sylvanus park and concentrate on the true Sacred Sites of Our Lady such as Fatima and Lourdes and Medjugorje. Our Lady of Fatima is calling you by name. Listen and answer her call.
God bless you all with lifelong peace and happiness!
You are not only a troll, you are an idiot!
If it were not for the MEDIA being at Fatima during the miracle of the sun, there would have been no worldwide acceptance of this apparition.
If it were not for the MEDIA, nobody but a few would have ever known about Medjugorje. It was through news articles and people telling their personal accounts that this place became POPULARLY known.
Pope John Paul II urged Catholics to embrace the MEDIA, especially the internet in their attempts to spread the faith. He even alluded to the success of the internet in spreading the cause of Medjugorje.
So, the facts are certainly lined up against you, AGAIN, in your ignorant little diatribe you continue to spout against Our Lady of America and the good things that continue to be attested to here regarding events at Rome City that continue to happen. This is what the Church looks for: the continuance of good fruits associated with the apparition. That is what is happening here and you simply choose to deny out of IGNORANCE and ACCEPTANCE of facts.
Anon -
Just a little something to think about...
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20)
I joined the Friday night Rosary Group last Friday at Sylvan Springs, and gathered in His name with 14+ people to honor Him, and to venerate his Mother with prayers that He asked us to pray, as well as those prayers Our Ladyr asked us to pray (at Fatima no less!).
Do I believe that a lesser god has any hold over me to bring me to Sylvan Springs and make me pray to our Lord and honor His Mother, Our Lady? Not a chance buster....only one glorious God can do that ... and he did.
Which brings to mind a concern .. you seem almost too familiar with pagan gods - please don't forget that our loving and gracious God can also be a vengeful one (don't lose sight of the Old Testament please ... he can be a jealous God when one of his flock is overtly concerned with lesser "gods" or beings).
God is the beginning and the end. The Creator of all Anon - yes...even Sylvan Springs ...where weekly two or three (or even more) are gathering in His name...
Anon, I pray for you - that you may find relief from belief in any other than God himself. For the pagan name you bandy about so freely...is nothing more than a name ... he (or she...or whatever sylvanus is) is nothing against the power of our Lord!
Pound the hill all - I know in my heart - the very heart softened by Him over the past month - that He will be in your midst.
Just for the record...it was a beautiful night at the rosary tonight. When it was over, the sun was spinning quite spectacularly and giving all those in attendance a spectacle to behold again!
For anyone to experience what is happening here and to say that it is of evil origin, I would have to say that they are certifiably crazy or of evil intent themselves. The glory of God is evident throughout and the abundance of graces is overwhelming for this humble sinner.
Say what evil things you will against the work of God and do what you will to try to sway good people from answering His call. None of it will keep this place from growing in its pre-ordained mission to be a gathering place and refuge for God's people.
Okay Anonymous, if you are so certain Sylvan is awful, reveal yourself - your name and where you are from?
My guess is you are a very educated individual, maybe even brilliant, you speak with authority, could maybe even be someone who is a religious. My question is, what are YOU so afraid of. Have you even visited Sylvan?
My recommendation to all posters is no more anonymous postings - Either put your username or some honest indicator or don't post.
To Jo,
Here's something for you to think about as well...
"All that glitters is not gold."
To kc,
I fear only God.
I think that negative person who keeps commenting as to the lack of credibility of OLOA does not respect Church authority such as our good Bishops and Archbishops who have already taken the position that OLOA is credible. This person is kicking the likes of Archbishops Leibold and Burke as well as numerous other Bishops and holy people right in the shins with their ignorant and disrespectful views.
There is nothing in these messages against the teachings of the Church and the visitors who are going to Rome City (some because they say God had told them to go there...no emails or spam involved in their learning of this place...they weren't even Catholic, so stop taking a totally Catholic view and try to be inclusive of all God's children, won't you?)

Dear Anonymous, June 1, 4:57 p.m.
I believe that you should always return to what you have written and do some real discerning about what you have just instructed the faithful to do re: the evangelization of God's will to His people.
I say this because of just this one portion of what you have written, as an example of your lack of the big picture and thus your faulty, self-indulged reasoning:
When the Lord is involved people have no need to concern themselves with worldly methods of letter writing and media exposure. The Lord has no need of such trifles. His ways are not man's ways. His ways are infallible and much more certain than silly media stunts.
With that silly statement you have just repudiated the entire style and methods used by our beloved, saintly pope, John Paul the Great!! Not only did he use "worldly means" to get his message out, using the media and instructing the laity to do just this, using "worldly means" in order that he could travel the world several times over and be seen by the millions, but even saying himself that nowadays if it isn't seen on TV, it isn't seen!!! And he was the beloved choice of God's mother for such a leader of our Church for just these times which MUST counter the evil use of these means of communication by the nemesis of Christ.
And, with all due respect, you are again just silly to actually think or believe that places like Medjugorje or Betania were not also introduced to the world at large through the media. I learned of Medjugorje for the first time, and believed immediately, through a small article in a secular newspaper. I heard of Betania through a local Catholic radio program... and... through video tapes made through Marian Communications and through books written about the miracles occuring in those places - just as the miracles occurring here are being just introduced through another internet technology. Either you face the truth yourself about which you speak and take the blinders off or remain for all to observe your own stubbornness which is merely a display of pride.
Rather, in this case, I believe that Sylvan Springs and what is beginning to be spread about it is a backdrop, an introduction to just what can be expected in greater depths... ONCE the ultimate goal of this cause of OLOA has taken place through the energies of the bishops. I believe that limitations may be expected UNTIL that greater, more national action takes place of the placing, through solemn procession, of Her Image in the Washington Basilica. So, when we "pound the hill", it must be with prayer for just that desire of our Heavenly Mother to occur... and swiftly so. Once, again, you are just wrong in your limited assessment of the things of God!!
I find the negative comments quite amusing because it is obvious this person hasn't a clue as to what they are saying. In my life, I have found that whenever we are blessed to know of a good thing in our lives, it is in everyone's best interests if we share that info with as many people as we can. Wheteher it is health advice, financial tips, cooking recipes, or new technology, we all have to do whatever we can to help get the word out and let people judge for themselves so they can better their lives.
So it is with Sylvan Springs. I have spoken with people who have been to Fatima, Lourdes, and Medjugorje who have favorably compared Rome City to the feeling and spirituality that they felt at all of those places. The only difference they determined was that the other places were more crowded and commercialized because of the build-up and popularity they had developed from years of promotion. Rome City has been sitting quietly until 2001 due to the circumstances surrounding the devout obedience of Sr. Mildred and the timing of her death.
From what I have been able to determine from my research, this particular movement suffered a major blow in 1972 when Archbishop Leibold died suddenly, but the fact that it has been revived, in accordance with reported prophecy associated with the current owners(prophecy made before their births), just illustrates how much patience Our Lord has and how perfect His plan is. "Go forth and bear fruit, but your fruit must endure." This is bearing wonderful fruits and enduring in spite of the hideous and shameful attacks of those who claim they fear only God yet have determined that He is limited in His ability to deliver His grace in all forms and in as many places as he sees fit to call His children.
BTW: I am not Catholic. I am happy with my relationship with Jesus. I have always felt a certain kinship with the Virgin Mary as a model for women of God.
I live on Sylvan Lake (not named for an evil pagan deity) and I saw the sun spinning over Sylvan Springs last evening. It was quite spectacular. I firmly believe something of the Holy Spirit is at work with this place and I pray that it will be protected by a new owner as the current owners have done for the past seven years. I know of a number of people here locally who have been positively changed by their personal experiences at this place.
All I can say is that I feel blessed that I live so close. I suggest that anyone who wishes to pass judgement should first spend some time on these grounds before they come to any conclusions they may regret later.
I have been gathering water from the new well and it is really interesting how it suddenly started spewing water again on Good Friday. During my last checkup, my blood pressure had dropped 20 points. I don't know if it is considered a miracle, but this mortal sinner will take all the help I can get.
The truth is the truth! Negative folks seeking to destroy other peoples' faiths will not prevail against God's pre-ordained plans for this Holy Ground.
I will pray for the conversion of this wayward soul who chooses to spew negative feelings with no basis in fact. These people are fanatical lunatics who cannot be reasoned with. These are people you do not want with you when trouble arises because they have so little faith, they bring the roof down upon the others.
Just to "weigh-in" with everybody.
I am now down 43 lbs. and my doctor and husband are thrilled with my progress. I have been using the rosary to great effect in my daily routine. All of my water is gone, but I think I can do the rest with diligence and prayer.
I love checking in on this site although I do not care for the negative person. I think he or she just doesn't have room for the fullness of God in their life. Maybe part of God, but not all of him.
I thank everyone for their continued prayers and I will pray for you all too!
To the negative anonymous person:
Here is something for YOU to think about.
"You don't know what you don't know!"
Don't worry about the anonymous comments. They are like a lonely protest in the dark void of illogical reasoning. No basis in fact to support any of their claims...kind of like Rosie O' and her inflamatory rhetoric.
I have been to Medjugorje 3 times and Lourdes 3 times. Never been to Fatima. I can say with absolutely no hesitation that the same feelings I felt on the hillside at Medjugorje and at the springs at Lourdes were the same as what I have felt at the site of the Our Lady of America apparitions and messages in Rome City.
I have made dozens of stops at Rome City since coming to know of it at the Notre Dame Medjugorje Conference back in '01. Lucky for me, I frequently travel in this area so it is convenient for me to visit regularly.
I have never been to the Friday night rosary but I have prayed many mid-week chaplets on the hill or in the parking lot during inclement weather. I have given the water from the waterfall to many sick family members and friends these past few years and they have all taken great comfort in its use (combined with prayer).
I feel in my heart that more will soon come to visit. I have already noticed a few extra cars on my own brief stops. Some just drive through and others stop and walk the grounds. I have had the fortunate opportunity to go inside the chapels and pray on two visits. It is so humbling to just sit in the large chapel where Our Blessed Mother actually stood over 50 years ago when I was just a small child.
So what you will. Think what you think. I know for certain that this is as Holy a place as there can be. I sense that with the increasing in faith that this ground is fostering, there will only be more wonderful examples of healings and CONVERSIONS in the days and years ahead.
Make a personal or family pilgrimage and feel the warmth and gravity of this special place for yourself. As a previous post has said: "Bring me my children!"
I had reported some months ago about how my wife and I go to Rome City to get the healing water for my father who had been ailing with crippling arthritis. We had not been back for quite some time as my father's condition had been dramtically improved from prayer and the water from the waterfall at Sylvan Springs.
We drove up yesterday for some more water and were stunned when we saw the water shooting up out of the "GOOD FRIDAY WELL". We had heard about it, but it was never flowing anytime we had been there in the past. We waited for another couple to fill their bottles and got to talking with them about the events that have been going on. They said they have been using the water to help their brother-in-law who is suffering the effects of cancer treatments. They claimed it was helping minimize the effects of his chemo treatments and that he always wanted some of it by his bedside. They took about 20 gallons. It was good to see that others were believing as we have been convinced for so long.
We all walked to the hill for a few prayers and to take in the feeling of closeness that we get while there. It is good to see that the word is getting out and Our Lady of America is being recognized by more people.
“In cases which concern private revelations, it is better to believe than not to believe, for if you believe and it is proven true, you will be happy that you believed, because our Holy Mother asked it of you. If you believed and it should be proven false, you will receive all the blessings as if it has been true, because you believed it to be true.” Pope Urban VIII
I guess the negative anonymous person thinks they are a more credible authority in matters of discrenment as would pertain to Marian apparitions?
Reference is frequently made to Pope Urban VIII's remark concerning private revelations. Good people, if you are permitted to believe in any revelation as though it were true then what need would there be for discernment? Has the Church not always admonished us to discern carefully any "revelations" and apparitions?
If anything is to be counted in our favor for having believed even if it turned out to be false, then why does the Church take such scrupulous measures to insure that revelations are genuine and not delusions or deceptions of the devil? Why doesn't the Church just accept all revelations as true if it will be counted in our favor anyway, just for having believed?
Because if we believe without discernment it opens us to all manner of morally corrupting deceptions and even heresies which can be surreptitiously mingled with the so-called revelations. Remember, it takes only a little leaven to affect the whole loaf. So, one lie concealed amidst volumes of truths can be very hurtful, even fatal, to the soul. It is best to follow the lead of the Church and attend to those revelations and sacred shrines which have full Church approval. In that way, you don't run the risk of being led astray by the disguised lies and evil schemes of the devil. Don't cross over chasms on bridges that are unsure, use the ones that have been tested and found secure.
God bless you all and lead you in His ways.
Wow Anonymous 2:24 p.m. can you spin words. Can you take words out of context. Try reading the oft quoted Pope's words again and you will find just those limitations that you somehow have missed and speak to as not being there. Frankly, if we all here actually depended on your kind of "discernment" we'd be the ones following the blind!
Has the Church not always admonished us to discern carefully any "revelations" and apparitions?
The Church herself takes time to study, reflect, watch the fruits, sends people to such places, listens to those who have been to such places, takes notes of the conversions, devotions, confessions, etc. So, as far as following the Church's lead, you apparently need to follow your admonishments to others. As long as the Church has not spoken here finally, nor at other places, no one is in error in watching those same fruits and being open to them in their own lives. What's your rush to condemn? The Church takes sometimes centuries to even beatify and canonize. Who steps out in front of the Church steps out in front of Christ. Your time is not God's. It would behoove you to pray to the Spirit for patience so that you won't be tempted to teach other than what the Church permits. When will you admit that you are in error on this question? But then that would take some reflection on just what you have offered here and, most of all, humility! Even though it looks like you've already closed the door behind you, you would still be welcome to come and enjoy those same fruits anytime! We'll be praying for that. Hope to see you.
Anonytoo
I saw something that I took to heart today, and am trying to follow it. (I have a "control freak" issue..wherein I am one! His will be done? Yup...but with me and my will kicking and screaming trying to control it the entire way...) Perhaps it could assist Anon too?
"Anon-I don't need your help today, but thanks for asking.
-God"
I take (and took!) this to mean for me...Hey Jo, thanks for offering your help today, but I have the God thing covered....you just set about putting into action what I will for you, I will control everything else."
Just a thought.
Our Lady's grace on all of you; have a blessed day!
Boy, I'd hate to be at a party with that negative person... where's the joy in their life? Absolutely no sense of hope shows in their comments.
I prefer to believe what I see. If some guy in a funny hat happens to agree with it, that's fine. If they don't, well, maybe I know something they won't ever accept.
