The Good Friday Well

As many regular readers will remember, on Good Friday afternoon this past year, a dormant spring suddenly began gushing over 100 gallons/minute of fresh spring water.

This spring had once been the source of water for a wading pool used by the Sisters of The Precious Blood in the course of their Kneipp water treatments. The same year the sisters decided to sell the property (1976), the spring dried up and did not flow again until this past Good Friday when it erupted back to life in a big way. The flow of water was so great, it soon overflowed the capacity of the existing drains and began flowing down the hillside creating a second waterfall on the property.

Today, the water is flowing at an even faster rate of 140 gallons/minute and is causing the water at the top of the well to shoot 10 inches above the water line. It is really something to see. In addition to this, the spring that provides the water for the scenic waterfall leading to Holy Family Hill has doubled in its volume too! The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has no explanation for these events to be happening.

This is the water that recent visitors have been collecting and taking with them in gallon jugs and drinking water bottles. It is conveniently located just off the main driveway leading into the facility. Come thirsty. Leave refreshed!

This was the water I bottled and took to my son who was suffering from numerous intestinal ailments last month. His bleeding has stopped and the doctors have released him from care. He is doing great now.

I had read about the woman in Chicago who had given some to her daughter and I felt I was being called to go get some water for my son's problems too.

I drove to Rome City from Lexington, KY and filled about 20 gallon jugs and every cooler we had. I went to the hill and asked for my son's health to return and asked the Blessed Mother to guide me in my request.

I took my son the water and mixed it with his medications at first. He had to drink this solution of ingredients and I just added a little at first. Later on he drank it straight. He would sip it while praying with me as I prayed the rosary with him. I placed a miraculous medal on the bottle he drank from and the visiting priest even blessed the water for us. I also placed a picture of the OLOA statue in his room next to the television so he would remain mindful of Our Lady's presence and her role in this request of ours.

After 8 days he got much improvement. The doctors were quite pleased that they did not have to operate on him and remove the majority of his intestines. He should be able to lead a normal healthy life.

Thank you Blessed Mother and Thank You to the folks on this website for helping me to know about Our Lady of America and this place of healing. I believe very strongly in it being Holy Ground. I pray that it will remain that way.

Connie-

What great news for you and your son. We have heard so many personal stories on this site and now on the ourladyofamerica.com site related to healings through the intercession of Our Lady of America and the taking of the waters from this Holy Ground pre-ordained by Our Lord for this special work.

What a great thought to have on this Ascension Thursday. Thank you for sharing.

At Mass this morning, I kept looking over to the Baptismal font we have to the side of our Church and kept noticing how the sunlight was bouncing off of it.

Then, I came home and visited this site. I get the feeling of a Baptismal font when I look at this picture. Does anybody else or am I just whacked?

Dear tb,

No I don't think you are whacked. I don't get the same feeling, but this IS a MIRACLE that I believe OLOA has given to us. I think for everyone it will mean and be something different. For all of us it is a gift form Our Lady and we should all honor and thank Her for this wonderful gift on the Passion Day of her Son.

Thanks for backing me up.

I just get the feeling of a baptismal font and the feeling of rebirth or renewal. I think it all goes together and is part of the essence of the healing nature of the water and this place in the way God has intended.

This is truly a gift with some meaning. We have been told that we live in a time of great Mercy - before the time of justice - since St. Faustina was given this mission. To have this gush forth on Good Friday is definitely a sign of the times with God's great Mercy flowing forth through the merits of His Son, Jesus, through His sacred wounds and sufferings. He has merited our healings and graces culminating on this day. I think OLOA wants us to know that our healings come through His sacrifice and her cooperation in that. Remember the water that flowed from His heart along with the blood on this day.

I had heard about this well from people at church. This is amazing!

I am going to try to get to the rosary this Friday and retrieve some of this water. Is it free?

the water is as free as it flows; and it sounds as if it is flowing extremely freely! Take Gallons with you, and share with others.

God bless all who have this water and the faith of the gift Our Lady of America in giving to all of us!
