And...More Photos
These photos were taken from Holy Family Hill while the sun was spinning shortly after the completion of the regular Friday Night Rosary on April 27.

The person who submitted these photos felt instructed to bring a camera this particular evening along with fresh flowers for the altar. Our Lord has a pretty grand way of saying "thank you".

These are truly something to see. The one looks like a Christmas tree.
Our Lord and Our Lady in the sky!
"Pound the Hill", is our battle cry.
For Rome City is the place
where God has given special grace.
Do not delay in going there
just bring yourself and special prayer.
Our Lady knows your special needs.
On your behalf She intercedes.
Hickory, dickory, dock!
I feel I'm still in shock!!
I went to the hill,
and prayed my full fill,
when I turned round, my world She did rock!!
Translated: My kids and I pounded the hill last night and after our rosary and individual prayers for Our Lady of America, we were treated to a wonderful display. For those who do not believe, I will continue to pray that you too will come to know what I know for certain. Our Lady is there and She is asking us to follow Her Son.
I just hope Andrew Dice Clay doesn't decide to Pound the Hill.
The Friday Night Rosary is coming up on June 1st. at the small chapel in Rome City. (Wouldn't it be a gift to Our Lady if we could fill the large Chapel where She appeared to Sister Ephram in 1956?
I know it is First Friday and many have Adoration obligations. But if you can work around and change times with someone in your church please try to come.
If you are unable to make it to Rome City and "Pound the Hill" as seems to have become our Battle cry, than please pray with us the three decade Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 7:00PM Eastern Daily Savings Time.
When one or more are gathered in His Name------
God bless us all, Peace and Purity,

Well, I e-mailed the local news media requesting they do a story on Sylvan Springs. I know Our Sunday Visitor did a story not that long ago. I hope others will try to contact all their media and ask them to do a story on this wonderful place.
I have a suggestion. Why doesn't someone with greater writing skills than I put together a letter that we could just copy and paste and email it to our local media people? Thanks Rocco
Good Idea Rocco, but I don't have those kind of writing skills. Maybe someone who has been closly invloved in all of this from the beginning when all of this started, could do a letter like that.
What about it? Anyone out there willing to help us out here to get the info out more?
Also to the Anonymous before Rocco's comment: What Sunday Visitor issue, date and all did they talk about Our Lady of America? Please let us know, if you can find it. I believe you can go online and read these articles. Would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Lhea
Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water.
That's too bad because the water is at the end of the parking lot and they could have just driven up to it.
It was a nice day to stop by the Rome City springs and fetch a few bottles of water even though I'm not Jack or Jill. I saw a few others there enjoying the scenery with out of state plates (Pennsylvania) and we got to talking about how we came to know about Our Lady of America and this particular place. They said they learned about both from emails sent to them by friends who read this website.
I see there is a new link on the front page where you can send the webpage to anybody with an email address. Very easy to use. I also like the map with all the dots. It would be good to see it get filled up from shore to shore.
I get the same or stronger feeling on the hill in Rome City as I do when I go to Medjugrjie.
There is such a simplicity to the surroundings that brings the heavens much closer to your senses. I loved my trips to Medj, but I am getting older and I think it would be easier to stay closer now. I am thankful it is here. I pray that a solid remedy will present itself to keep it the way it is.
I believe the Sunday Visitor issue was sometime in late August of '06.
It was a good article which said that Our Lady of America does have some official support from the historical imprimaturs and current support of Bishops.
I found this article in the archives at OSV.com:
Msgr. M. Francis Mannion
Our Lady of America
Devotion based on private revelation in 1956 never quite won the popularity envisioned
Question: Our religious-education class has been studying Our Lady of America. What is the origin of this story? Why do we hear so little about this wonderful event?
-- Dale De Poyster, Big Clifty, Ky.
Answer: The devotion to Our Lady of America originated in private revelations of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Gabriel and St. Michael to Sister Mary Ephrem (Mildred Neuzil) of the Precious Blood Sisters in Rome City, Ind., beginning in September 1956. Sister Mary Ephrem became in 1979 a Contemplative of the Indwelling Trinity until her death in January 2000.
Much of the focus of these revelations had to do with the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Sister Mary Ephrem said that she was asked by the Blessed Virgin to draw a picture according to the vision of Our Lady of America and to have a statue constructed accordingly and placed after a solemn procession into the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. According to the visions, the Blessed Mother wished to be honored in the National Shrine under the title of Our Lady of America.
Archbishop Paul Leibold of Cincinnati, who was a spiritual director to Sister Mary Ephrem, seems to have been convinced of the authenticity of the visions. He approved the striking of a medal in honor of Our Lady of America and the publication of some of the writings of the nun.
The devotion to Our Lady of America associated with these visions never seems to have taken on the proportions wished by Sister Mary Ephrem. This may be partly due to the fact that the principal titles under which Mary is venerated in the United States are as the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
While the Church is cautious in its approach to claims of apparitions and private revelations, there is nothing to stop someone who finds the writings of Sister Mary Ephrem edifying and helpful in living the Christian life. Fundamentally, the authenticity of private revelations is in the fruits they bear.
The Article on Our Sinday Visitor to which a previous comment referred can be found in the OSV.com archives under "Apparition Has Some Official Support" dated Aug 27, 2006.
Pardon the typo...that was supposed to be Sunday, not Sinday. I hope most of you know the difference.
Erin,
thank you so much for all the information. I will be going to these sites more often to see what else is being said regarding Our Lady of America!

From the comment by Msgr. Mannion:
"While the Church is cautious in its approach to claims of apparitions and private revelations, there is nothing to stop someone who finds the writings of Sister Mary Ephrem edifying and helpful in living the Christian life. Fundamentally, the authenticity of private revelations is in the fruits they bear."
Look at all of the comments on this blog detailing the glorious fruits: CONVERSIONS...HEALINGS...STEADY PRAYER...FAITH BUILDING
What more could any Church leader wish to see from any site such as this? I would dare to say that there are more conversions going on at this place than at any of the parishes around the country.
I agree with Hillary and Karen on the presence one feels at Rome City along with the many, many personal accounts of blessed fruits being gathered and bestowed there.
My children still talk about our visit there last summer when we had a picnic after visiting the hill to pray first. They call it "Mary's Place" and they are after me to take them there again this year. I will gladly do so because I cannot think of another place that has had this kind of effect on our whole family. I think it is the sense of heaven coming closer to you when you are there. That was a good description.
We will be returning to "Pound the Hill" as a family.
I'M SAD TO SEE THAT HTIS REAT PLACE IS FOR SALE! HOW WILL WE BE ABLE TO GO THERE IF OWNED BY SOMEONE ELSE? I FEEL MARY IS CALLING US TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL THERE TO PRESERVE THIS AREA. THE FACILITY IS LARGE AND COULD BE USED BY SEVERAL GROUPS[AND THERE INTEREST] SUCH AS A FREE CLINIC, HOME FOR UNWED MOTHERS AND MAYBE A MISSION RUN BY SISTERS OF LIFE.
