Our Lady Reaching Out To Us

Offered for your discernment:

This photo was taken by a pilgrim to the Rome City apparition site on August 14, 2001. In her signed affidavit, she said she believed the diamond-shaped figure which dropped down from the spinning sun is a spiritual silhouette of The Blessed Mother. This photo was taken with a basic 35 mm camera. The woman stated she had no photography skills beyond basic operational skills of any "point and shoot" operator.

This woman had just completed a rosary with her family on top of Holy Family Hill when she turned and noticed the sun was pulsing rapidly and was emitting a colorful array of light across the sky. It was a little after 3:00 pm and it was an otherwise bright blue sky with a few wispy clouds overhead. She pointed her camera at the spinning sun and this photo is what developed.

Please note the angle of the image and how it is slightly turned rather than square with the vantage point of the photographer. When shown to local professional photographers, they asserted this image is atypical of a distorted lens effect. Their consensus was that if someone actually had the skills to create this image with the most basic of cameras (inconceivable to our experts' knowledge) the resulting image would be squared to the focal point and not have this angular, slightly rotated position.

Possible Conclusion?

If one were to discern this to be a miraclous image of Our Lady, then you would see what obviously appears to be a diamond-shaped silhouette with a bright interior light at the "heart" of this image (Immaculate Heart of Mary). The rounded "shoulder" is suggestive of Our Lady's mantle draped across her outstretched arms as She is descending from the spinning sun.

Now, take a look at these images, captured with a similar camera from approximately the same vantage point, nearly 5 years later by one of the pilgrims attending the first Our Lady of America pilgrimage to Rome City, IN, on the afternoon of July 15, 2006. Do you doubt Our Lady is still reaching out to us?

We will have more photos for your discernment in the days and weeks ahead.

This is totally awesome.

I guess you don't see THAT every day. This very much like the diamond-shaped images that have been reported at places like Lourdes and Medjugorje.

I find the one photo where the image is captured from sort of a side view as the most convincing. There is DEFINITELY something there that doesn't seem to be a camera trick. I don't think you could fake that and with evrything else that has been reported I do believe the Holy Spirit is at work at this place and that Our Lady of America wants her place of honor and enshrinement in the National Basilica.

What can you say? Our Lady is calling to us with these signs and wonders that we may give glory to Her Son.
How will we respond?

It is quite inconsistent with past apparitions of our Blessed Mother to appear in a place and then demand that her image be placed in another. In most instances the Blessed Virgin appears in the place where she wants anything pertaining to her to be built or established, such as a chapel, or icons representing her apparition. If she wanted to establish a statue of herself at the National Shrine, she would have appeared there.

Furthermore, if you good people would exercise discernment, you would realize that the claim, in the alleged apparitions to Sister Neuzil, that Our Lady requested that the statue of the lady of America be placed in the National Shrine would be uncharacteristically redundant of Our Blessed Mother if the statue of the lady of America actually represented her, for, it would be redundant to request that such a statue be placed in the National Shrine where statues representing her already abound.

Also, the people who own the property could go a long way toward demonstrating that they are not motivated by the pursuit of personal profits by donating the land encompassing the alleged apparition site in Indiana to the Church. Such a charitable act would preclude selfish motives to a great degree, and if Our Lady truly appeared in that place, then I am sure it would be very pleasing to her to see the land placed in the hands of her faithful and priests.

God bless each and every one of you geatly!

"If she wanted to establish a statue of herself at the National Shrine, she would have appeared there. "

The National Shrine wasn't even completed until 1959. Maybe Our Lady couldn't wait three more years to make her wishes known.

As far as the owners donating the property...who do they give it to? Who is going to be the religious order that runs this? They can't give it to the one nun in Fostoria and expect her to manage it. This is too BIG. It sounds to me like they are already doing what needs to be done and we just have to let events unfold.
Mary will give the direction for what She wants.

Here we go with another chance to educate a sister/brother in some real historical facts that she/he doesn't seem to be capable of assessing on her/his own, possibly due to a closed and/or fearful mind:

""It is quite inconsistent with past apparitions of our Blessed Mother to appear in a place and then demand that her image be placed in another."

Apparently you are not aware of the images both at Amsterdam and Akita Japan - their linkage - and that particular image is pretty different from the couple of traditional images that you feel should be the only ones God chooses in all cases for His Mother. BTW, both of these apparition sites have been approved! What was our Lady doing having her same image worlds away from one another?!!

"if you good people would exercise discernment, you would realize that the claim, in the alleged apparitions to Sister Neuzil, that Our Lady requested that the statue of the lady of America be placed in the National Shrine would be uncharacteristically redundant of Our Blessed Mother if the statue of the lady of America actually represented her, for, it would be redundant to request that such a statue be placed in the National Shrine where statues representing her already abound."

Ah ha, dear sister, you are a clever spinner!! Have you been sleuthing to discover a great find within all of those many images you mention of ONE representing America, the U.S.??? Because no one else has up to this point. Of course if you don't want to honor our Mother in your beloved country with an officially approved image by her American bishops then that's an expression of your own depth of devotion to Her - not most American Catholics. And I wouldn't be so proud to advertise that personal fact!

Regarding property to be maintained by the Church at this time ... if you haven't noticed, the Church is having to sell off beautiful properties because She's going bankrupt in a lot of places. She now depends on the laity (esp. since Vat II) to be more active, under Her authority of course, and many, many places are now returning to Marian devotions through the laity with the happy cooperation of the Church. Someday make a visit to the Blue Army Shrine in NJ for just one example. Or the main and other shrines of Padre Pio. The Church cannot afford nor was She meant to work only through the clergy. It is a sign of great grace through the Holy Spirit that it is through the grassroots movement of the laity that great spots of devotion throughout the world have become known. And I suppose that the various young visionaries of Medjugorje should not have, through Providence, married citizens of other places where they just happen to have daily apparitions of that SAME Mother of Medjugorje. Hopefully we'll never box Her in - May She travel the world in whatever guise She chooses according to the devotion and goal for the times in which we live!

What if this was not possible without destroying this ownership's financial security and it harms their family? Would you still prefer that because you seem to love large doses of misery and pain with your faith?
Do you practice self-mortification to excess?

I posted this already but I want to make sure people see it. I am sorry if I am breaking any rules here.

I have been travelling to Rome City for about 8 months now to get water for my ailing father. It is about a 6 hour roundtrip for me and I look forward to it each time. I fill two five gallon coolers and whatever gallon jugs my wife sets aside for me. We give the gallon jugs away to friends and my father drinks the water in the coolers. He calls it his "miracle water from Mary's place".

I wouldn't do anything like this if my wife had not heard about this water source from a friend at Church one Sunday. She was told about a grandchild of one of the parishioners who is working on Our Lady of America being healed instantly of some sort of neck injury suffered at birth. They claimed it was the water from this apparition site so my wife convinced me to drive her up to get some water and try it on my father's crippling arthritis.
We grabbed some coolers and old milk jugs and headed up the Highway 69. When we arrived, we found a man out mowing this HUGE front lawn. He told us we could help ourselves to the water but that we should go to the hill before we left and ask for Our Lady's intercession in this healing we were seeking.
My wife had her camera so we took some photos of the grounds and made our way to what they call Holy Family Hill where they have the most beautiful statue of the Holy Family I think I have ever seen.
We took some photos and prayed to Mary while we touched the statue and all of a sudden we were surrounded by all of these butterflies. We couldn't believe it. It was beyond our belief. We both started to cry tears of joy and comfort that we were being blessed by our dear Heavenly Mother. One of our photos has a very clear image of Mary with two angels above the treeline. It is the most precious possession we own.
We took the water back to my father and he began drinking it regularly. It was gone in about a week. And so was his pain in his joints he had suffered for over 15 years.
We pray for Our Lady of America's confirmation and we pray for this beautiful piece of heaven and thank God that we have been so blessed.
I have never been to Lourdes or fatima or Mejugorje. I have been to Rome City and I can HIGHLY recommend you visit if you can. It is so peaceful and full of gifts.

I understand the local Bishop has made no confirmation nor a denial of these events. Is this true?

What a wonderful story of Our Lady's intercession on kenneth's behalf.

I am simply overjoyed with what is happening and I am praying for Our Lady of America to be confirmed immediately. These photos are very convincing to me. They speak volumes.

Truely inspiring articles. This place is obviously blessed by Our Lord for His work to be so evidently displayed. I don't get the intentions or reasoning of that one person who keeps saying this is false. Maybe she needs a glass of this water? I know I want to drink some.

Where do you get the water? Do you just take it from the waterfall? I would think that would be the purest. I'd hate to drink from the ponds I see are there.

I will always remember my first visit to Rome City. It was just after I was divorced and I was in a very angry mood with everyone.

I was driving around one Sunday and I stopped in to this big place because I needed to use a restroom.
There were some people around and they directed me inside and I did my business. I came out and looked around a bit because it had a very comforting feel to it.

I got to talking with the owner and he said his name was Larry. He said he and his wife were trying to build this into a place that would help kids and their families and they would be doing sports events and family retreats.

I was kind of anti-family oriented at this time given the fact I had just gone through a bitter divorce and I told him I thought it was "nice" even though I was thinking "screw the kids and the families".

Larry picked up on my emotional state and asked if there was anything I wanted to talk about. For some reason I just unloaded 24 years of pent up rage at this guy and he took it without flinching a muscle. I mean I called my ex everything in the sailor's dictionary plus a few made up phrases that nobody should ever hear in their lifetime. And he just looked at me when I was done and asked me "now, aren't you glad you had to peee?"

We ended up taking a ride around the property and he told me about the apparitions that had happened there years before. He said he had no idea about them when he bought the place but that he was quite certain they had indeed happened because of all the people like me who end up there wondering why it was we stopped in the first place.

He told me I needed to learn to love myself more and that once I did, I would then allow others to love me too and that would complete the essence of Christ's image in all of us. I may be paraphrasing but I had never heard that before and it made so much sense. I have never forgotten that moment and I hope I never will. We were up on a hill looking over a meadow it was so peaceful.

He dropped me back at my car and I thanked him for showing me around but I really wanted to thank him for showing me the way out of my misery.

On a later visit, I met an old priest who was living there and he sat and talked with me in the lounge for a while. He was very inspiring and he listened to everything I said so completely. He prayed with me and gave me a blessing.

I have since come to know Jesus in a way I had never thought possible and I was introduced to him by the Blessed Mother and Our Lady of America. I completed my RCIA training and was baptized 3 years ago Easter.

I have to say "Yes, I am glad I had to pee".

I am 18 years old and attend Indiana University in Bloomington.

I learned about Our lady of America while my high school soccer team was staying at Sylvan Springs last year for our pre-season training.

Mr. Young talked to us about the history of the place and the OLOA apparitions that took place. He took us to the chapel and gave us copies of the messages to read.

At first I was reluctant to say anything to my friends, but later that night a few of us got to talking and I found out they were involved in prayer groups through their church and they invited me to pray with them. We went back to the church where the apparitions had taken place and it was really neat.

From what Mr. Young had said to us and what my friends offered to me, I have found that Jesus is there for me and wants me to respond. I am trying as best I can.

I will be going back to Sylvan Springs this summer and my friends and I will probably try to spend some more time praying in the big chapel again. It really made me feel good and that's about all I wanted to say here.

I forgot one thing. I did not see anything in the sky like what the pictures are showing but I wouldn't doubt it a bit that it is happening because the place really has a certain feeling about it.

Thank you for sharing your personal accounts and helping the cause of our Lady of America.

Please help to spread this message by continuing to share your great news with those around you who may not know of the many blessings which await them through Our Lord.

I think the pictures are to be considered carefully by discerning people as to their credibility. I have never seen anything like this myself but I have read many reports from others who have visited Holy places with their accounts of these things being witnessed.

The work here that seems most valuable is the spiritual conversions that have been expressed (the soccer player and the woman who needed to use a restroom). The physical healings are great but they are temporary compared to the longterm goal of salvation.

Please read Our Lady's messages and help to spread the news of Our Lady of America.

May God Bless Us All and Defend Our Country.

Incredible Photos!

It looks like this is right up there with all of the miracles they claim happen at all of the other "approved" places in the world. Why isn't the Church acting on this faster? I saw something on this in The Sunday Visitor some time ago but haven't seen anything since.

I just happened across this site from another article I had read and I am just amazed.

Keep it up.

Our Lady must really be putting in some overtime with us these days. She is trying awfully hard to get us to listen.

The messages are beautiful and this website is doing a good job. I like it a lot and I visit every time I get on the internet.

AWESOME photos. Especially the first one.

I can definitely see what is there and I do believe.

I have had the book of messages for several years now and the medals for my family in all our homes.

Our Lady of America has waited too long for her image to be enthroned in the National Shrine. We need to get the messages to our Bishops and to each other.

I believe we have entered a state of emergency in this country and we need to do all we can to turn things around now.

I just can't believe that anyone can look at these photos and read these accounts and not be convinced of Our Lady's desires expressed in Her messages.

We need to work to get Our Lady of America confirmed.

I will be looking for retreat or pilgrimage information when it comes available.

Thank you all.

These photos are phenomenal!!!

Is this property open to the public on a regular basis? Who owns it? Is OLTIV buying it or returning it to use for pilgrimages? I think this is just tremendous and I cannot wait to visit with my family.

We need to get Our Lady of America into the shrine in washington. It's a shame that here isn't anything representative of the US. I always considered Our Lady of Guadalupe to be a Mexican heritage thing and not something I could really attach myself to. I'm sorry, but it's a bonding thing.

Ummm... Do lens flares and diffraction artifacts sound familiar?

I'm not saying these photos were specifically produced with the intent of displaying these effects, but such things do occur when you point cameras towards intense light sources such as the sun.

I don't want to rain on any parades, but shouldn't we concentrate on true miracles rather than hawking what could simply be a natural phenomenon caused by the cosmic interplay of light and a camera lens?

"...disturbances of the imagination and errors of sensibility thwart or pervert the operations of the intellect and will, by deterring the one from the true and the other from the good"
