Miracle of The Sun: September 27, 2005

For your discernment:

These photos were taken by a visitor on September 27, 2005 atop Holy Family Hill on the grounds of Sylvan Springs in Rome City, IN. This event took place shortly after a small group of people making an Our Lady of America pilgrimage prayed The Divine Mercy Chaplet.

This was the comment that accompanied their letter:

"It was about 9:30 a.m. and these images, visible to the naked eye, appeared to be circling the spinning and pulsing sun in a playful chase. Sometimes they would break away from their regular orbit as if to show they were actually live beings. Every now and then, what seemed to be a bolt of light would shoot to the ground. Approximately 8 people witnessed this event. It was extraordinary!"

I witnessed something like this with a group of 20 people while on the hill at Medjugorje. Some could see it with the naked eye and others could not.

This is absolutely wonderful. My wife and I will be visiting Rome City as soon as we are able.

Was this an anniversary of one of the apparitions. I get confused with the timeline when I read the various articles.

These are magnificent photos. You can definitely see the images of two distinct entities.

Yes...this was a VERY important anniversary date for Our Lady of America as She appeared to Sr. Neuzil.

From Sr. Neuzil's book of messages:

On September 27, 1956, Our Lady again appeared to me while I was at prayer. She held the world in
her hands. From her eyes tears were flowing upon it, as though she longed to cleanse it from its guilt.
It was then that I heard these words filled with sorrow and longing:
'"Behold, O my children, the tears of your Mother! Shall I weep in vain? Assuage the sorrow of my
Heart over the ingratitude of sinful men by the love and chasteness of your lives. Will you do this for me, beloved children, or will you allow your Mother to weep in vain? I come to you, O children of America, as a last resort. I plead with you to listen to my voice. Cleanse your souls in the Precious Blood of My Son. Live in His Heart, and take me in that I may teach you to live in great purity of heart which is so pleasing to God. Be my army of chaste soldiers, ready to fight to the death to preserve the purity of your souls. I am the Immaculate One, Patroness of your land. Be my faithful children as I have been your faithful Mother.
“These are my words, O my daughter. Make them known to my children.
“I desire to make the whole of America my shrine by making every heart accessible to the love of my
Son.''

What can anyone say when they see these images?I feel you either you believe in these things with a childlike faith or you don't.

I like to keep my faith simple and this whole Our Lady of America thing just fits so well with me. This is awesome to think we can have confirmed apparitions here in midwest America.

This is just like what Michael Brown has on Spirit Daily today.

Sometimes he puts things on his website that he calls sun spinning and it just looks fuzzy. This I can see clearly.

I do not think anyone was doing this with their camera intentionally. This is amazing.

If it was 9:30 A.M. as is claimed by the people who made the photographs, why is the sky so dark. That does not look like a morning sky. Something does not add up in these photos. Also, those things around the sun look like lens effects.

That statue of the so-called lady of America appears as a big departure from past appearances of Our Lady. Where is the crucifix? Where is the rosary? Why aren't her hands folded in prayer? Instead we see a ridiculous looking spiked crown that makes it appear as though the figurine has a bunch of horns on her head. And that odd looking long-stemed flower is more like the wands that are commonly pictured in the hands of demonic fairies, rather than like the rosary which is often cradled in the hands of statues of genuine apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The alleged apparition that was supposed to have occurred in Indiana has FAKE written all over it. Remember that our Lord warned us that there would be many false prophets that would crawl out of the woodwork in the end-times. Pray that God will bestow his grace upon you so that you will be able to discern the false apparitions from the true ones.

God bless you all and endow you with discernment.

I guess that means we can put you down as a "no show" then?

You don't seem to like much of anything with this. That's O.K. Just more for the rest of us. I will pray for you and others with your opinion.

Looks like our naysayer here hasn't experienced too many of the myriad of sacred images of Mary. He/she should check out LaSallette or Beauraing! And the several images of Mary holding the lily as in this image of OLOA - the sign of purity, fitting the message as well as the part of this mission that includes the beautiful descriptions of the role of St. Joseph, also often pictured with the lily as part of his tradition within the Church. And the many images of Mary holding her hands in various positions without the rosary or crucifix - as she points to her Immaculate Heart (as here) or holds out hands full of graces flowing for our asking, as in the Miraculous Medal (check out the statue in the chapel there - also quite a crown!). And, frankly, this image is much more modest than many of the European depictions of Mary throughout history. If only our own youth could dress so modestly!

I do photography work of all kinds. It is possible to make "things" appear in photgraphs. However, these photos are quite compelling for the following reasons:

First of all, I am going to assume that these photos were taken by someone with the most basic of point-and-shoot skills. They were probably using a single lens 35mm film camera with 200 speed film at best (disposable or otherwise). I am also going with the assumption that someone who is making a pilgrimage with a group of other religious types is not looking to fake shots like this. Call it a weakness of character on my part.

Two photos were taken while standing in a shady area with no flash and it is an obvious shot through a tree canopy (hence the trees and slightly darker image). The other two were taken after moving to a less covered area (no tree canopy). Much of the darkness is the result of the contrast of the brightness of the sun's light against the normal sky color. There was no way to adjust for contrast with the type of camera I assume was used.

You can get a pretty good indication from the angle of the shots through the trees that this was either a mid-morning or mid-afternoon position of the sun. But, really, what difference does it make what time of day it was? No matter what you can do with a lens to play with light, there is ABSOLUTELY no way to make the things move around the sun and leave a precise orbit or shoot bolts of light towards the ground as the witnesses observed.

This appears to me to be authentic.

I believe it. That must have been awesome to see. I bet those people will never forget that sight.

I am going to have to get a group together to come visit this year. Maybe everything will come together and this will all get confirmed this year?

There is a lot of basic info on the other site but no real information as to what the status is for confirmation. I know everyone says pray, but that only gets you so far when you are dealing with real world issues. What can we do? Maybe we should organize a march or a rally? Maybe a bunch of local rally sites around the country (especially in those diocesan areas where we need the votes of the Bishops yet)?

I hate to sit and wait when I see things going to pot around me. America needs this NOW.

I had heard about things going on there from other people who had been there. This is really something.

God is good and we need to be paying closer attention to what it is we are choosing in this world.

She cannot hold her son's hand back much longer.

Well, the only status for "confirmation" is that which you can glean from the website. Whenever something new of any real substance happens, they let you know. And the latest is the movement of the cause through the tremendous (and I mean tremendous) action of what happened recently at the bishops' meeting with the "sponsorship" by Archbishop Burke of the messages, new statue, introduction and education presented by the Fostoria reps along with AB Burke to the bishops, expressing the necessity for them to help accomplish the goal of getting the statue in the Shrine...that is the hurdle asked by OLOA. And each time another bishop does something public like enshrining the statue, that is good news. The other good news is the enthusiasm shown by Mother Angelica and the Franciscans. Soooo, what people can do is to write for info, messages, prayer cards, etc. and make up packages to send to your particular bishop. Spread the info around through your parish priest to educate more people. Each bishop must hear from his people and the desire to accomplish this mission for the sake of saving America. Do it nicely, but speak to the main points - the imprimatur already established by Archbishop Leibold; the plaques; the bishop's approval of messages and prayer, etc. as well as your real concern for this country's need of spiritual help through Our Lady of America. Nothing will come to pass without the push by the bishops - esp. write to the Archbishop of Washington, D.C. (most likely will soon be Cardinal) and to the Rector of the Shrine, showing your interest ... esp. if you have donated to the Shrine - Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Packets were mailed some time back to each bishop, but they still need to know of the growing grassroots interest. And prayer is definitely needed always.

Do It Nicely

Kris has some good points and everyone should pay attention to the point about presenting it "nicely". One thing I've found about Bishops and priests when you inform them of this, they will often be negative in their initial response because they get freaked out by it. If you stay "nice" and ask them to "READ" it, they usually come back with the same safe response that we must "discern" these things. That's the way it goes and that's the way it has to be played. Stay the course and this shall come to be. Our Lady has already put this plan in place well before most of us were even born.

As my dear mother used to say, "Fanatastico! Praised be Jesus!"

This is exciting. Maybe there is hope for us after all the back-turning we have done on Our Lord.

KRIS-

thanks for the follow-up. Personally, I would like to see some of these Bishops make some sort of "position statement" on this and really step into the light for all of us to take note of.

In your mind, is this a waiting game to see if one of the Bishops in one of these five geographic locations steps forward to declare that they believe these messages and events to be true? Hasn't that already been done by AB Leibold? Church politics...these two words should never be placed next to each other.

Well, obviously it's not a "waiting game" or else none of us would know today what we know nor would the bishops now be "entertaining" such a group within their midst at a gathered bishops' meeting! It is moving ... and, thankfully, with some very well respected and orthodox bishops influencing the others. And, also, obviously, AB Leibold, even though he partially approved this, is no longer with us to complete the approval. Them's the facts that we have at present. I really don't see any other approach since this IS the outline given by OLOA herself in the messages to Sr. Millie. We have to see the positives that have happened through the humble, faithful work of good people these past few years. We cannot afford now to split up or cause anything against the unity. If the bishops notice disunity or "bad fruit", then the labor so far can be limited. Again, document the good fruit through the prayer, medal, etc. - esp. to Washington's AB, the Shrine's Rector, and ... the Papal Nuncio. Make sure you accompany that documentation with materials to "refresh" their memories ... again!! Let's thank God for His gifts, as undeserving as we are, and beg for even greater and speedier action through His Holy Spirit and His Spouse this new year! It is the fulfillment of our Lady's desires on our behalf that should be our own desire. That usually involves patience and humility. If you have some of the material and you have tables within your parish church, ask your pastor if you may offer them to the people, letting him know of the bishops' new involvement and the cause's own 1st stage approval by then AB Leibold, himself, a holy figure. If you have a new bishop showing interest, perhaps you could write the Center for any video they may have (I don't know) of the happenings at Mother Angelica's and other Cathedral enshrinements in other dioceses and show him.

Something tells me that 2007 is going to be a "wake up" year, through the Holy Spirit, in many ways!! May God bless us all in His Holy Will.

After writing above my sense that 2007 is going to be special with the Holy Spirit (I don't know if any of you are familiar with Fr. Melvin Doucette - very well known orthodox priest/missionary of PEI now - interviewed by Michael Brown of Spirit Daily a few years ago), I read the latest message to the wonderful Marian priest, Fr. Melvin Doucette. You can read about him here:

http://www.ourladyofpei.ca/message.php

Message to Fr. Melvin Doucette January 4, 2007

"I am making all things new

Reading: Acts 2:1?13

Dear friends,

Unless you become like little children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.

I spent a half-hour of prayer early this morning with Jesus, Our Lord and Friend, who said, Melvin, My faithful brother, I bless you and all My brothers and sisters throughout the world. The year 2007 is the year of great blessings for the world. Open your hearts to receive the New Pentecost that is coming over all the peoples of the world. The Holy Spirit is coming with power upon you all to turn your hearts back to Me, to call you to repentance and to fill you with fire.

Do not fight the Holy Spirit but accept Him with your whole heart. He is coming like He came on the Apostles on that first Pentecost. The Apostles were filled with great joy and began praising God in different tongues. Their faith was strengthened and the fear of the Jews was gone. They unbolted the doors and Peter went out to preach to the people assembled. On that day three thousand people were baptized and the Church was born.

The New Pentecost will give you all new life and free your hearts from the things of this world. You will feel sorrow for your sins and you will have the strength to change your way of life. The Holy Spirit will give you great fervour in prayer and the strength to work to build My Church. You will end your compromise with the mentality of the world and live only for the truth, which I came to bring you. You will strive for holiness with the power of the Spirit and grow in your love for the Father and for Me.

Know, My friends, that I am making all things new. The old world is passing away and a new era is beginning. Be ready to enter this new world on your knees in prayer. The Apostles prepared for nine days in prayer for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Begin now to prepare for this New Pentecost. I love you all."

Hmmmm!

I applaud your efforts to make Sr. Mary Neuzil's messages from Our Blessed Mother known. What is the connection between the site in Indiana and the Our Lady of America Center in Fostoria Ohio? It looks like you have things moving in a good direction.

I would like very much to make a contribution, do you except checks.

I understand from the FAQ that the facility is closed. When will it be open for visitors again? Are the grounds/parking areas open if we wanted to stop by? It is just beautiful.
