The Face of Jesus In The Tree
The next photo comes from back in 1960. This was probably one of the most-photographed items on the property ever. If you look under the little A-frame roof, you might just see the image of a face looking right back at you.
This was a big attraction for visitors for over 50 years until the tree was felled by a windstorm in the early 70's. This tree was directly behind the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes which was at the base of what is now called Holy Family Hill. There was a big bench at the base of the tree and people would sit there for hours praying the rosary and reading.
Even though the tree is gone, people still come to sit and pray. Some things never change.

To all in Our Lady of America!!
So many are asking what can be done. Please take notice and know that what Needs to be done and what easily Can be done is following what Our Lady of America asked of Sister Neuzil. In so many words, She asked her for Her bishops to come together to have Her image placed into the National Shrine and to be recognized as Our Lady of America to bring peace to this country, and for us to lead, through example, peace to the entire world. She asked for her bishops to be aware of Her presence to Sister Neuzil and yet only a few bishops have carried this request with them and tried to accomplish it in the past.
Please remember the church was in the midst of a big change with Vatican II when this all happened, and as we know it is still in a struggle of sorts. Perhaps because of this huge change in the late 50's and early 60's this particular apparition somehow unfortunately got lost, as they say, in the cracks. Sad as that may seem we as humans are known for Human Error. Our Lady deserves better than this, and so do we as a country and as a world. Those of you who know you have been touched by the healings, conversions, and have received the messages of Our Lady of America so need to get this information to your bishop of your diocese. There are a few bishops trying to work on this, but they will need all the bishops of this country to get behind this Cause to encourage the bishop of one of the dioceses to recognize her once again and to complete this request once and for all. This is a job that was not completed, and Our Lady of America is appearing and showing herself regularly to many people in order to get this finally recognized. Notice how many she is reaching out to! You who feel the time is short are probably correct. We don't know how much time we have, but at the look of the world and this country we all can tell we are in desperate need of God in our lives. Our Lady is trying to help us, through Her Son, to bring us home to God and to be one in love, purity and peace. Peace for this country, and peace for the world is the work of God completed. It is love for all people and acceptance of all people and especially love for ourselves.
This alone shows our ultimate love for God!! Look what is written on the side of the National Shrine in Washington D.C. That may well be why she is asking to be there.
Please, She needs her bishops! For all of those who have experienced healings, conversions, messages from Our Lady or messages from the heart during prayer, please contact your bishop in your private dioceses and please let him know what is happening. Write your letters and pray as the bishops become aware of what they need to know. Make your bishop aware of Our Lady of America and your belief of the things that have personally happened to you or to someone you know that would be willing to testify in behalf of Our Lady of America.
Many comments I have read, I truly believe have personally come to people from Our Lady of America along with the physical healings and conversions. Sister Mary Ephram is still with us praying to bring this to fruition.
The fruits are showing themselves regularly. There are so many more people out there having these experience that don't even know they can share these things on this Blog. This is a plea for all out world peace and conversions of all souls. Our Lady of America is not speaking now to just one visionary, she is speaking to us all. This alone should tell us how urgent this is.
Please, you ask what can be done? Our Lady is telling us. She needs Her bishops. I don't know how much clearer She could have been to Sister Neuzil, and now to us. Nothing can be done without Her bishops! We ourselves are responsible for doing it. We need to gather together Her bishops, so they are of one mind and can work together as She has asked.
May God give all of you who have had the gift of Our Lady and Her Son given to you through messages, healings, conversion, and perhaps even visions the strength and courage to reach out to your individual bishops and be part of completeing Her request!!

Amazing how a place like this never was recognized by any of the Bishops to be a place filled with miracles and wonder. I guess our country is just too young for Europe and other continents to believe that we could have holiness here. It is time for all the nations in the Church to recognize us and places like Sylvan Springs.
By the way anonymous. I do agree with your call on how to get this done. We need to educate the bishops of this country. I hope all of those who have left comments recognize that when much is given much is expected. For those who have had the blessings we need your help to write your bishops as anonymnous said. Please help Our Lady!!

If I may humbly offer a couple of suggestions that I hope might be helpful:
It helps when trying to educate one's parish priest or when contacting one's bishop to be very kind in one's approach. Frankly, a lot of the spiritual dimension flies very low under many cleric's radar these days. It takes a while for them to get acclimated to anything they are rather unfamiliar with!!
So, have the most interesting and convincing statements copied and available for them to take time and read on their own. If you can get the message booklets, medals, and history to have on hand and share with them, that would be something concrete and something that our Lady can work through if they have them in hand. Give them that info, up front, that will draw their practical interest first - the 1st stage approval, imprimaturs by Bishop Leibold, the life of Sr. Neuzil, the action more recently taken re: World Youth Days; various enshrinements already done (including Mother Angelica's - esp. the talk already posted here), and then follow up with the personal testimonies, esp. those of conversion, that describe this holy place.
Whenever you take the time to gather this together and contact your own bishop, it would be helpful to show that copies are also being sent to the Shrine's Rector who is familiar with this movement and to the Papal Nuncio to the U.S. If the Papal Nuncio receives enough notice of these messages regarding the Washington, D.C. Shrine, he is more likely to raise this issue to Rome and bring it up at Bishops' conferences. Below I've listed addresses for such contacts. Let us be little warriors of Mary in this computer age and "get out the vote" so to speak! God bless all in their efforts. Our dear Mother waits and notices every small or big effort. Beforehand, it's always good to call upon the Holy Spirit, her Spouse, to open the heart/s of whomever you are attempting to enlighten about OLOA! This would be a great cause for Marian prayer groups - make up as many packets as you can to send to those listed below. If any of you know men involved with the Knights of Columbus or other groups of men who have connections with those who have contact with bishops, ask them to bring this up. God bless.

I remember this face in the tree. As kids, we would run to the hill and show our friends and eat the jelly beans we would get at the candy store as you went down to the front lawn and ponds. When our parents caught up to us, we would all gather and say our prayers and then walk around the mound and stop at each of the stations of the cross while my father would tell us about each station.
My father would have been very excited about Our Lady of America and the devotion to Our Lady. I am sure he is doing all he can from where he is now to help in this cause. This picture really brings back good memories. Thank you so very much.

Come, Holy Spirit!
I am writing to say that I also feel something is coming about that connects all of these events. I normally don't think about these types of things, but I had a dream on Saturday evening/Sunday morning and in it Our Lady showed me a map of the United States with portions of its coasts no longer recognizable. It was one of those dreams that are very real to you and you remember all the vivid details.
She pointed to several areas that She said were refuges for the faithful who have heeded Her requests. She said these were the places She had been and these were the places set aside. I feel that one of the most prominent places She had shown me was right over the northern portion of Indiana in the approximate area where Rome City lies.
I spent all day yesterday going over the messages of Our lady of America and reading the homilies. One thing leapt off the page at me:
"My faithful one, if my warnings are taken seriously and enough of my children strive constantly and faithfully to renew and reform themselves in their inward and outward lives, then there will be no nuclear war. What happens to the world depends upon those who live in it. There must be much more good than evil prevailing in order to prevent the holocaust that is so near approaching.
Yet I tell you, my daughter, even should such a destruction happen because there were not enough souls who took my warning seriously, there will remain a remnant – untouched by the chaos who, having been faithful in following me and spreading my warnings, will gradually inhabit the earth again with their dedicated and holy lives. These will renew the earth in the power and light of the Holy Spirit. These faithful ones of my children will be under my protection and that of the Holy Angels, and they will partake of the life of the Divine Trinity in a most remarkable way."
I didn't remember seeing that portion of the messages before, but there it was and here it is.
I see the Rome City location as a potential refuge in the tribulation period that has been foretold.
Does anyone have any more to add?
I would like to know if anyone else has this impression or if any other mention has been made in any other writings. I am concerned.
I have spoken with my pastor about this and he suggested I reach out to this community in this forum to seek helpful commentary. I think he believes, but this is, admittedly, far above his level of expertise and knowledge of Our Lady of America.
To B Leonard-
if you read the comment of the week you would see that there are others who are feeling they are being called to action also. there have been numerous comments on this website that point to Our Lady's calling on "regular" people to listen to the messages.
I believe we are living on borrowed time and that places like this will be safe havens for the faithful to converge. I think we will have to cross that bridge when we get there (if the bridges are still there).
I cannot specifically say where, but I do recall seeing articles where Our Lady has said that the places where there have been the apparitions is where there will be safety. You could probably find information in the Michael Brown archives on spirit daily.
BTW: he has been noticeably quiet lately on OLOA. Must be too many UFO stories to cover :-)

Jesus said: “My people, I have told you many times that in the time of tribulation that the places of apparition from My Blessed Mother would become places of refuge for protection. My Blessed Mother will put her mantle of protection around all of her children when you will be facing the Antichrist and his evil ones. Be thankful that heaven will be helping you in this battle of good against evil.”
I have read about these same places being "refuges" when the time comes. It sure looks like Rome City has all of the markings of being one of these places.
I see it this way... Rome City has the benefit of being hours away from any large city that may be targetted for terror...it is in the middle of farm country where the food is...it has its own source of water that is apparently quite healthy for the body...it has a rich history of special graces being bestowed. I'd say if there was any place that was to be a refuge, this would be a good fit.
I think all of these dreams and "messages" are trying to tell us something. I hope the Bishops are paying attention---even more so, I hope the word is getting around to more regular folk.
I feel passionate about these apparitions and I am even going to get a medal to wear. I feel I need the graces of this apparition, because we live in evil times and I need all the help I can get. How generous is Our Lord! Beyond anything I will ever know!
I've never heard of the apparition until recently and I was born and raised in Indiana. I still have friends and family there and so far no one I've asked has heard of what is going on in Rome City. Weird--eh?
My four sisters and I usually get together once a year to do something without our kids or husbands. I just e-mailed them, hoping we can do something more fruitful than the usual shopping, drinking and dining. My youngest sister lives in Fort Wayne and the two of us just talked on the phone. We've decided we are going to visit Rome City with or without the rest of the gang. She is in Rome City frequently because she has patients there, but until now, she has never heard anything about this.
I wonder why it is so unknown. If it ever becomes well-known, we'll probably be glad we got there before the rush.
This picture sure beats the water stains or refrigerator ice you see on spirit daily all the time. This one makes sense because it is at a place like this and not on the side of some overpass.
My mother had a photo with our family standing under this tree at Kneipp Springs. We used to dress up in our good clothes and go to visit the sisters and attend Mass. It was always an enjoyable trip. My cousins all made their first Communions in the church there and one of them was married there.
That picture is really something. I can't wait for summer when I can load the kids and come for a visit.
I imagine it will be pretty busy there this year from what I am hearing.
I saw this on Spirit Daily yesterday and followed it here. I think they kind of missed the point with this one. I think this is just more eveidence of the good things that are so evidently connected with this place: Archbishop Noll and his work on the National Shrine, OLOA, the many healings and conversions that have taken place...and continue today.
Some places are just special that way and this is one of them. I hope it can be saved for all generations to come and that people will respect it for what it is.
