Comment of The Week

So many good comments are being submitted by visitors to this Blog that it seems only fitting that an attempt be made to give attention to the most outstanding comments by posting them on the front page so they are not missed by the casual passersby.

I have been holding onto something for a few years now and I feel it is time that I share my story.

I was ashamed of myself for so long that I tried to keep it from everyone but now I know I have to tell about my experience with Sylvan Springs and how my life was spared by a divine intervention.

I was in a troubled marriage and I had given birth to our third child just a few months before I learned of a series of cheating episodes involving my husband and two of my friends in the neighborhood.

I was devastated and depserate. I grabbed a small handgun and drove away. At first I wanted to kill him and then myself. Then I just wanted to kill myself because I thought I was the problem.

I kept driving and went to West lafayette where I met my husband 9 years before. I thought this would be a good place and it would make him remember what he did to me forever.

I sat in a parking lot by the stadium and tried to work up the courage. I asked for forgiveness and suddenly I felt like driving again. I started driving with no particular destination in mind and a few hours later I ended up in the parking lot of this big place across from a beautiful lake in a small town called Rome City.

I sat there for quite a while. I didn't think anybody was around and after some time had passed a man came up and knocked on my window. He gave me a bottle of water and asked if he could help me. I looked at him and was about to say no but for some reason I told him I needed to talk.

He was very kind and listened to me talk about all sorts of things. I never told him what I was up to. He told me why he was there and that he thought this place was a special place and had some important work ahead of it. He talked about how much he missed his wife because of this work and that he hoped it would completed soon so he could be with her again.
We had been walking and we ended up on this big hill with the most beautiful statue on it of Jesus Mary and Joseph. That made me think about my situation and about my kids and husband and I felt I could go back and get things straightened out.

We walked back to my car and I asked the gentleman to get rid of my gun. He was so shocked when I handed it to him I thought he was going to drop. He told me he would handle it.

I had no idea where I was so he gave me directions to the highway and I was able to find my way home.
I was a long way from home. I had driven almost clear across the state.

I'm happy to say I made it home and my husband and I got back into church and our pastor has been a great counselor to us. We have been doing great and I am happy.

I got to thinking about this place and told my pastor. He told me about Our Lady of America and that I must have ended up there. This was the place for sure. I recognize it from the pictures.

I believe it was the Blessed Mother who brought me there that day. I thank God this man was there and that I was saved by the Holy Spirit.

What a wonderful blessing for this woman. This makes me believe Our Lady is looking out for us and is bringing us to Her special place. Although there may be many of these places in the future (the National Shrine being one of them) it is very much like the Virgin to intercede on our behalf at the place where She first announced Herself to the world. This is how it happened at Fatima and Lourdes and many other miraculous places around the globe.

I hope to be able to travel this summer and visit this special place.

God's Blessings To All.

Good people,

There is a sure way to bring blessing and grace upon our country and the whole world. We need only to live the messages and the examples of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Mother Mary and the saints. Love God with all of your heart and surrender to His will. This is the way to summon the graces and blessings of Our Lady to our land. Show yourselves worthy to be called the children of Mary by living as her Son Jesus did. Isn't that the whole point of Our Lady's true apparitions and messages? To call us to a holy life? That should be our focus, rather than more statues. For, let this be a warning, too much focus on such objects as statues and medals can deteriorate into idolatry, and that would be to dishonor our Blessed Mother rather than to honor her, even if the statues be of her.

Also, by LIVING the messages of Our Lady we become living shrines to her, and our very lives become living tributes to her. That would be immeasurabley greater than dedicated shrines built with mortar, for we would become living shrines created by God. Then where ever people are, there would be a shrine to Our Lady. What great honor that would be to the Mother of God...to have America populated by millions of living, praying, holy shrines that never forget our God and Our Blessed Mother. When the population of a country becomes shrines of devotion to Our Lady the entire country virtually becomes a shrine to her. What place on Earth has ever given more? When has Our Lady ever received such praise and honor? We can do it. All that we need to do is LIVE her messages of prayer and fasting, and repentance. Then this entire country, instead of a mere basilica, would become the greatest shrine ever devoted to the Mother of God! But, good faithful, she deserves it, for she bore the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ!

What great blessing, then, America would receive from the Lord if we carried Him and His Mother in our hearts always! There would be no need for fashioning anymore statues nor building anymore shrines for WE would be the shrines -- LIVING shrines created by God! What could possibly compare with that! And I strongly suspect, good people, that if we were to devote ourselves entirely to Our Lady in such a special way, that we ALL would experience apparitions of Our Blessed Mother personally, rather than hearing about them from others. That would be experiencing the heavenly while still on Earth!

God bless you and establish you in His Sacred Heart!

First you don't want to believe that this apparition could have POSSIBLY happened and now you want EVERYONE to be having apparitions.

Well, aren't YOU an equal opportunity provider now?

I believe we are all after the same thing here. You just don't like the image or the message so you say it is false. That is your right to not obey. It is your free will to exercise.

I won't be joining your parade anaonymous.

great story. I was offended by the evangelization attempt at first, but I believe the Holy Spirit works in many wonderful ways and I think this will be helpful to people. It certainly gave me a lift today.

Thank you E.B. for sharing so openly. It really touched my heart and I am so happy for you and your husband.

The Lord uses people in these situations and He apparently used this man at Rome City to help you find your peace of mind. I am sure there will be many more things reported in the coming years about how the Holy Spirit has lead people to this place and others like it in times of need.

I will be praying for you and Our Lady of America. Please continue on your spiritual journey and help others in your area to learn the news of Our Lady's wishes.

I read about this site and OLA on Ron Conte's website (CatholicPlanet.net). This is the most excitement I have felt about the possibility of renewing our planet in ages. This is really good news. I had never heard about it before.

I visited this site and have spent nearly 2 full hours skipping around and reading. It is very, very interesting and I am so thankful that you are doing this.

keep it up and I will tell everyone I know.

I have been to this place many times over the past decade and I can attest to the spiritual magnetism I feel when I am there. It is sometimes overwhelming.

Words cannot express the depth of Our Lady's love for us. I have felt Her messages in my heart for some time now. I believe I know how Sr. Neuzil must have felt.

If I had the money, I would gladly give it to this cause to help protect it for the work that is to come.

Please pray for Her enshrinement in the National Shrine ASAP.

Peace Be To All.

I read about this site and this apparition on CatholicPlanet and I am really glad I did. Our Lady of America is a beautiful message and I will try to learn all I can.

I do hope to be able to visit this special place before it gets too busy because I think it will get VERY busy if the world keeps going as it has been. We need to end the moral decay.
